Default New christian channel may be up on Oct. 14, 2005

After 50 calls to many uninformed Sirius csr's , I finally got fed up and called the front office. A spokesperson named Frank says that Sirius is in discussions with 2 christian suppliers but would not name names. I then asked what about the BOTT radio network , which is a division of Sky Angel, and he said NO ! Bott would be a great fit because of Hank Hanegraaff and also John Ankerberg.

I have only been a sub. for 1 month , but I am very upset at Sirius, as they said in early Sept. that Chrisitian talk ( not including the jewish faith and catholic faith- Frank said that that is an error on the web site !!! ) would be on the system on Sept. 29. Maybe they meant that the real date is Sept. 29, in the year 2010 !!!

Not that I would want to admit to hearing Howard for one show-is it possible that Howard's appearance is only hype and just a tactic to sell a few Sirius radios ??? Is Sirius bankrupt and can't afford any new programming ????

You are really grasping at straws.

The bottom line is that Sirius didn't have the content for this channel yet and they are still working on it. This isn't the first time its happen, but being new here you wouldn't know that. Amazing how someone just coming to the service would already assume the worse. I have to tell you that is how trolls operate?

It was indicated that Martha Steward's Channel would start on the 29 and it didn't. The Globe has yet to get its new programming and in the mean time extended the Rolling Stones.

Sirius isn't bankrupt and I don't see that happening. They will fill these channels, but I really wish they would stop adding channels without the content, because it truly does make them look foolish to some degree. They started doing this and was doing loops, but now they just add them with no programming and sometimes not even a loop.

Howard Stern is coming you can rest assured of that.

Welcome to the backstage retroman....calm down and relax....its coming. Be patient....Sirius added this channel and others that have not gotten their programming yet because there were several channels ready to go on the air so to make things simple they went ahead and made room for channels like Christian Talk and Martha Stewart at the same time. The programming will come just BE PATIENT.

Default just FYI

Just FYI, Bott is not a division of Sky Angel. Sky Angel simply carries the channel. Bott is not a "division" of Sky Angel.

I love the new REvolution channel. However the loop right now is only about 3 hours or so, maybe a little more. However, it's going to get more and more added to it soon so hang in there.

I think a Christian talk channel would be great, but they do have to get something with content.

Just stay patient.

There is already an entire channel devoted to Catholics. So, on the contrary, not only are they not being left out, they have their own channel and have had it for some time.

But aren't Catholics Christians? I see more problem with having a specific Catholic channel that I do letting them on the Christian talk channel.

Catholics have much different doctrines and practices than the Protestant faiths even though they are all Christians. That's why they don't co-exist very well on the same channel imo. But the fact that they are separate probably has more to do with the fact that EWTN is completely full, and it probably makes sense to take the whole content that is offered rather than fragment it.

The reason for my rant is that I basically got my Sirius radio ( on Sept, 6th ) for the NHL and on Sept . 12 I see that XM radio will have the exclusive rights in 2007. This means that I will have to purchase the other company's radio within 2 years. I know it is my own problem - I should have waited but I didn't.

The Sirius people tell me that if I cancel my subscription I am penalized a fee of $ 75.00.So why not rant and hopefully get a quicker response and believe that Christian talk is really coming ??? A csr today says that it probably will be the 31st of October- MAYBE !!!

Hank H. also happens to be on the opppositions Family channel. He alone is the reason to switch. The Sirius management need to add more conservative talk to stand up against the liberal Howard Stern and the Out channel !!!

Im confused. You are in a subscription that is locked in? Im not. I pay monthly and can cancel at any time. Also if you buy the annual you simply let it run out. I dont understand what you are talking about.

When I first activated my radio I purchased 2 years ( actually 21 months cost with 3 free months ! ) then I downgraded to 1 year ( actually 11 paid months ) . Yes, I should be happy that Sirius would let me downgrade, but I have had no savings of any kind because I phone the New York office at my expense weekly now for an update on ch. 159 and Frank just gets my voice messages and NEVER calls me back . Excellant customer service - Not !!!

Even the website still says that there will be jewish speakers, catholic speakers and protestant- christian speakers . Frank said 2 weeks ago that that IS not going to be the case and the site will be changed...when ? ....as soon I become president of the US ????? Never !!!

The other radio service has 1.MSNBC 2. MLBaseball 3.Hank Hanegraaff 4.NHL for 10 years in succession What does Sirius have ???NHL for 2 more years and maybe Howard and maybe Martha and maybe Cosmo and maybe Christian talk and maybe somebody " that is up to date with the web page !!!! ... yes I know- its time for Retroman to zip it !!!

Why does Sirius need to add more conservative talk? Stern's show isn't really about politics. As for OutQ, the channel can get somewhat political, but it's main intent is to provide information and entertainment that appeals to the gay community.

As for the Christian channel, I completely understand your frustration. Sirius does have a bit of a problem when it comes to adhering to deadlines.

Sirius has two conservative channels, Sirius Right and Sirius Patriot. Liberals like me only have Sirius Left and part of OutQ. The Christian talk channel will most definitely be conservative too, so I think you guys have enough.

And moderators, don't delete my post because I'm a liberal
