Default Folk-Rock / Alt-Country on Sirius?

I've been following sat radio for a few years, but only now am about to sign up. One reason I've waited so long is that I don't see a folk/rock or Alternative Country channel on either Sirius or XM. If you ever had DMX through a cable system, there is a great Folk-Rock channel:
Check out: http://www.dmxmusic.com/guide/whats_...&channel_id=29

Are there any channels that I would hear these artists?
Gillian Welch
Wilco
Lucinda Williams
Aimee Mann (I've gotta be able to hear her!)
Beth Orton
Jayhawks

I'd appreciate any input you can give... Thanks!!

Why not try the streams for yourselves. Sirius gives you access to the live streams for 20 minutes at a time. I'm not sure but the Bluegrass channel might have some of the artists you mentioned. Best bet is to listen to all 5 of the country channels before deciding.

Try 24, 25, or 36.

Default Alt-county

Stream 36-The Border plays all of those artists. I'm constantly going between old country to bluegrass to alt-country. 36 has a good mix and even throws in some Hank Williams Sr. or Ernest Tubb for good measure.

Yep, and so does Organic Rock. Between 36 and 24, my SIRIUS radio gets quite a bit of use!

Probably 1/4 of the time I am tuned to one of these two fine streams!

Is 24 considered Alt-Country? I have some relatives looking to buy a system, but they are unsure with only one alt-country stream.

24 used to be known as E-17 Eclectic. There is a LOT of crossover between 24 and 36. Is 24 Alt.country? No. But it plays a very fine mix of many things, and some alt.country CAN be found there.

Default Thanks all!

Thanks for all the responses. I've been spending some time with the online "streams" and do really like organic rock. It's not really the format I've been looking for (like FOLK ROCK & COFFEE HOUSE ROCK of DMX), but with all the channel choices, I could be a happy guy with Sirius in my car

It's this question that I think Sirius needs to address on their website. Are there any channels that play _________? There should be a search engine that comes up with a list of stations where the song can be heard. The Spinner/Netscape Radio internet player has this feature.
