See, that's what I was hoping for as well. Also, throw in some more alt. country like your Ryan Adams, Son Volt, Gram Parsons....etc. Unfortunately, that's not what this channel is to me. While they will play songs from these artists every once and a while, it's just a mix of music that doesn't seem to go together. While I realize some may enjoy that aspect, it's not for me. The other day they played an old Merle Haggard tune followed immediately by a U2 song. WTF is that?

While I like the general balance of Outlaw Country better than XM X-Country, I hear too many repeats on Outlaw. I sometimes hear the same song 2-3 times in a day.

X-Country plays a little too many "angry guitars", but I still listen to it in the car. The best show on X-Country is Felton Pruitt's Fat Radio on Sat. & Sun nights.

Sometimes I find Mojo Nixon a little too loud and hard to take. I don't want to sound like a prude, and don't always use the most genteel language myself, but I find the profanity gratuitous. I suppose its just "bacause they can" but it can be a little embarassing when my 12-year old daughter is in the room or we're playing it with a group of people on our boat.

I think they play alot of stuff that isn't country...i.e, "Southern Rock"

I don't mind it, just think that any description of it being country is false.

At first I didn't like it but it is growing on me.
They have played a few of my favorite "alt-country" bands today
so I am pleased.

I have tried listening to Outlaw Country before and it was not bad. But I haven't listen to it in couple of months. I'll try again soon.

I thought "the Border" was a much better channel. I'd prefer a straight ahead, "alt country/americana" format instead of the all over the place "outlaw country". I prefer the more normal, straight ahead formats over the eclectic, artist created ones like "Outlaw Country", "Underground Garage", "Sirius Disorder", "Faction", etc. These are my least favorite Sirius channels because they remind me of XM and why I hated XM. I prefer having regular formats where I know what I'm going to get and can punch directly to it. These channels I mentioned above seem to be more "anti format" or "anti radio", and are very hard to listen to if you aren't constantly wanting to be challenged. I know everyone has different tastes, but I tend to prefer the more normally structured formats. And while alt-country/americana isn't a normal format, I think "the Border" did a better job of making it into a consistent sounding format than the more eclectic "Outlaw Country".

I can see including the Eagles and Lynrd Skynrd; how do they come off including Neil Young? The Southern Man don't want him around!

You'd LOVE "Hank's Place" on XM.

All genres of music considered, I definitely prefer Sirius over XM.

But when it comes to playing true traditional country, Hank's Place beats any of the country channels on Sirius.

I like Outlaw Country, but it's no replacement for The Border.

Kill a $%*!@ rock stream and bring back The Border.

This channel is da bomb --- umm, y'all

To me, OC is basically an edgy Americana kind of station. If every XM station could name just one artist that is the most reprsentative of their musicial output (i.e. Buzzsaw = AC/DC, Jam On = Phish, Magratiaville = Buffet, duh), then OC's poster boy would be Dwight Yoakum. I personally wouldn't mind some more blues and "boogie rock", but I know there are about 4 other stations that should have that covered.

Mojo is absolutely scary and thus funny as sheet. (Anyone else able to try and pull off a show called Lyin' C---S-----s? And this guy is considered country?? Well done)

I do like the music played on Hillbilly Jim's weekend shows.. but Hillbilly's patter is actually pretty annoying. I remember when he was rasslin' and I thought he was lame then, and he's gotten more so.

I've heard all of these artists on Sirius Disorder. Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Wilco, Son Volt, Robert Earl Keen are all in the regular rotation.

I agree with the above. I have both Sirius and XM. Outlaw Country is way more fun to listen to - it's great in the car. I found the mix of music on X Country to be very angry and too serious. X Country is good, but Outlaw Country is better. Plus it's a totally unique format that doesn't typecast who gets played, as long as the attitude fits, it works on Outlaw Country.
