wbcn is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Americana

When The Border was swapped over to Outlaw Country, I began to realize Sirius didn't have a handle on the music world. Alt Country is a huge genre and to overlook it shows how deep the Sirius suits have their heads up their asses.

XM is now my shining star. X Country (and KPIG FM in CA) does it right.

Mel should set sail and retire off the Island of LOST.

Unfortunately, that isn't the case in every genre. It is still my opinion that SIRIUS kicks XM's butt when it comes to the ROCK genre. But do you honestly think Mel is the one making the programming decisions? Mel is running the business, but the programming is probably not something he is involved in on a day to day basis and probably leaves those decisions to others.

Default Outlaw Country

I gotta agree about SIRIUS needing a true Americana/Alt Country station. Outlaw Country is becoming unlistenable and the weekend is the worst. I am sick and tired of hearing Travis Tritt, Big & Rich, Montgomery Gentry, and George Thurogood on Outlaw Country. I'm sure all of those "artists" are better suited elsewhere.

Default It's a Problem all Around!!

I like to listen to lots of stuff and only recently turned on to Country. I like alot of the basics Cline, Cash, Williams but I really like Jesse Sykes, Laura Cantrell, Tarnation, Be Good Tanyas, Blanche, Shackshakers, Reverend Horton Heat etc. I agree with the idea that Sirius should take a long hard look at Alt Country/Americana having some kind of place at the table. When I first got Sirius I thought Outlaw Country was going to be a well balanced mix of old and new, but I heard no Meat Purveyors, no 16 Horsepower, no Paula Frazer/Tarnation!! Since the first day the playlist ( at least during the day ) is pretty predictable. Oh as far as the other R&R Channels..Garage, LOC, CBC,Punk, they also seem very Locked In for Cutting Edge Sirius..maybe I should just remove the words..cutting edge Satellite Radio.

You do know you can email the channel to bitch about this stuff, right? I would agree that there might be room for Outlaw to open up the channel a little, just expand the playlist, you should be able to go a full 24hrs without hearing the same song (I notice that there is some repitition, not a lot barely enough to complain).

As for the "The drinkin', fightin', truck drivin' songs"...You do understand this is country music, right? If you want to eliminate thouse types of songs, then yo uare looking for the religious music channels...

Yep, the day the Border left was a sad one indeed. Way too much rock and too many Whore stations (i.e., single-artist channels, movie promotion channels, and celebrity channels like Martha Stewart, involving a cash agreement with Sirius).

Thumbs down

I know you can email SIRIUS but we all know what a joke the customer service is with SIRIUS. I have gotten many emails saying I would recieve a response from SIRIUS within 24 hours. I've subscribed for 2 years and have never, ever recieved any type of response. Latey, Outlaw Country has become harder and harder to listen to. Country oldies and Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart all day. Please SIRIUS...give us a alt country/Americana station. How many times a day do I need to hear "Hillbilly Highway" by Steve Earle?
