Default New Channel request - BBC Radio 2

As per the title, since we already have the mighty Radio 1, how about backing it up with the equally terrific Radio 2?

Also, as great as the time delay is, any chance of a Western Coast delay as well? be it 7 or 8 hours difference, either would be great.

thanks Sirius !

yep, all the BBC channels would be great, without any delay at all.

Radio 1's ratings are far from good. I doubt if Sirius would even add more BBC channels at this point.

kingchuck69, maybe so, but it is the only reason I bought a Sirius system.
Although of course I do enjoy several of the other channels a well, but if BBC was not there I would cancel.

I'm just one subscriber though.

True. Even though they're not the highest-rated on Sirius, BBC's programming has a loyal following.

As a matter of fact, I used to love Annie Nightingale's show on Sunday nights.

maybe it's more popular with UK expats like myself?
I also love that it's delayed to be really close to the right spot in the day, I'm loving going to work with Chris Moyles as it were !

I'll keep my fingers crossed on Radio 2, but not hold my breath
It'd be great to hear Russell Brand in my car!

I LOVE RADIO 1! Edith Bowman's accent is worth the subscription price alone! Moyles and Mills are awesome as well!

I only listen to Howard and Radio 1.

I would be highly upset if BBC R1 was removed. BTW...I do not trust the sat radio "ratings book."

Radio 1 is not for everyone, but it fills a nice niche to attract listeners.

I'd welcome Radio 2, but I'd much rather take Virgin Radio UK. I know they have commercials so it would have to go up in the commercial band with Cosmo radio, but I'd love it.

I love BBC Radio 1, it's one of my favorite stations. It's got some great electronic music on it like Annie Nightengale, Judge Jules, Essential Mix, In New DJ's We Trust.

I'd rather see Radio 4 added than Radio 2.

I also listen to the BBC World Service on Sirius as well. BBC Is definitely a top class act. I'm not a British Ex-Pat but I just think their content is very high quality.

I've also would like to have BBC Radio 4 added. I've heard some of it on the internet and liked what I heard but I don't listen to much radio on the internet. I got A satellite reciever because they had the BBC 24/7. I was A loyal listener to shortwave for over 20 years but they decided to quit broadcasting to North America

I've heard A little of Radio 1 when I got my first Sirius radio but I like the BBC for their news mostly. Any BBC station is A plus though.

I wasn't ever a fan of BBC radio in general before I got Sirius, but I tuned in off and on a few times in the last year and have started to get into it, and now listen for an hour or two at a time to BBC1. Definetly an underrated station on Sat. Radio.

Radio 2 for me just has a nice mix of stuff, whereas radio 4 is a bit niche.
But, I'd be happy with anything else the Sirius Gods provided !

who do we ask?

IMO the best BBC station for music is 6 Music, the DAB station. Check it out - you can stream it online (for free mind you) at bbc.co.uk.

Since Sirius has an "exchange" contract with the Beeb and Underground Garage 25 occasionally airs on 6 Music, I'd far rather have 6 Music than R1. However, I could certainly live with Radio 2 as a compromise. There is, nowadays, a lot of crossover between R2 and 6 Music in terms of both music programming and specialist DJs - Lamacq, Maconie, etc.

Personally my feeling is that R1 appeals to a younger demographic than Sirius in general does, so R1 is not a good match here. R2 or 6 Music would be way better. JM2C though.

I agree that radio 1 is aimed at a younger crowd, but I'm still a fan of a lot of that chart stuff that doesn't get played anywhere in North America ( that I have found anyway)
I will have to check out 6music though, I don't think it was available while I still lived in the UK.

I'm almost 30 years old but I love BBC Radio 1's Dance shows on Friday Night. I wouldn't want to lose those
