Post A programming idea for Sirius

Would people be interested in a channel covering music from 1920-1950? This is a nice niche which is pretty much ignored on Sirius, but for certain places like Sirius Disorder.

Radio Classics plays a few of these tunes, too.

I thought SIRIUS Gold already covered the '50s. Though, I wouldn't mind seeing a '40s channel in the lineup.

Correction: I wouldn't mind seeing a '20s to '40s channel in the lineup..... As long as there are no more single artist channels.

I'm not saying it's bad idea but considering the demographics of the average satrad sub I'd say the demand for something like this would be very low.

Very much so. XM's Forties channel fills that gap very nicely. My old Army chum Bob Moke does wonders with the programming as he is a genuine aficionado of the genre.

Hopefully, when the merge becomes reality, Moke's work can be enjoyed by all.

It's way before my time, but I like the old music. As kingchuck69 points out, they do play some old tunes on RadioClassics as filler music. (That's actually what got me interested in this genre).

Swing Street and Standard Time came close to filling the bill for 20's to 40's music... But they no longer exist... I think DoublEE is right, Sirius doesn't see enough demand for this genre.

I'll probably be going for the a la carte option if/when the merger is approved.. XM's 40's channel will definitely be one of my choices.

The same could be said about "The Korean Channel"... Give me one good reason why that channel couldn't be tossed in with the World Channel's programming.

I often wondered that myself. Maybe it was part of the condition of getting their original license.
