Default been talking with sirius people by e-mail

I have been talking with sirius people by way of e-mail. the two people I've been talking too are Jay Clark and Michael Moore. First they tried to tell me that the music from I-90 can be heard on the pulse. Then I put that to rest!!! I told them that the pulse is suppose to be an adult contemp channel a mix of the 80s and 90s and today and not a 90s channel. Then they told me they researched it and felt that they made the right decision. All I can say is research this Is there anyone on here that think this is a good dicision? Speak up now!!!! They researched shit!!!! They also said there sorry that I was upset about the decision and they said they could'nt please everyone. Well here are 2 subs that they will lose!!!! "Please everyone" that is bull shittttt!!!! How can you do away with a whole decade? A popular decade at that.... Dumb fucks What a way to run a business

I agree with Spinster 100% goddamn percent! This was an extremely stupid move.
I guess they just dont care about winning subs over and finally making some money out of this thing.

Sirius, listen up! You are stupid and senseless. Put that goddamn 90's channel back and do it NOW! You hear me?
Take your research and shove it up your ass! Who the F did you research anyway? Haven't you learned anything yet?

And while we are on the stupid subject, fix goddamn Alt-Nation!!! And fix it now! It is reptitive and sloppy! Do you realize that I dont even bother listening to you in the house anymore? Dont even bother with a boombox or a plug and play, because after people get done reading these messages they wont want your goddamn service!

Hey, here are some suggesstions you can use. Why dont you dump all of your decades channels and replace it with truckers channels, then I was thinking you could add a few more weather channels!! I cant get enough.

F the dog, F your plans for a boombox, F fixing your signal, F ever getting phone lines.... Basically, F you!
Its over Johnny! ITS OVER!!

I agree that if both of you are that fed up with Sirius you should cancel your service. Be done with it. The dog has made you rabid...

How have you been in contact with Michael Moore?
He has been out of the New York offices for almost 3 weeks now, I know because I have been in contact with several people at Sirius's HQ.. Including Michael.

Default I-90 RIP

Sorry to hear that I got what I wanted (channel 6) at the expense of a younger set that misses the 90's. I had said "Thank God Sirius came to its senses and put the 60's channel on where it should have been to begin with." (What's a radio without that great era. Even my granddaughter, who's 8 loves the music, and us old fogeys who grew up on that music are just in love withit.) But cutting out another whole decade. I agree. Stupidity. If they really need the bandwidth, there are a lot of other things that could go first.

Hoping you get your 90's back -- and they keep the other decades.

They should have both.. 60's and 90's. Not one or the other. They also need to leave the 50's, 70's and 80's alone as well. Get rid of one or all of the worthless weather channels and/or any other multitude of crap channels that no one listens to.

And one more thing: FIX THE DAMN MO F&$#ING SIGNAL PROBLEMS!

I wonder just how many repeaters XM has in LA, because these signal problems are no where near as bad as they are in LA... Here in Eastern Washington, I never have any signal issues.

I think XM has quite a few. XM rarely, if ever, drops out.

My biggest complaint with Sirius is the artifacting. It sounds
like a bad mp3 file at times. Horrible and unacceptable.

I have emailed and called them about that and they say
that they are aware of it and that some people are more
sensitive to it than others. They say they are working on
fixing it so that is why I haven't given up on Sirius completely.

The I-90 thing is just the straw that broke the camel's back
for me.

Strange... I guess some people at Tier 2 customer care are using his e-mail while he is out... My last voicemail to him was answered by a Tier 2 agent who called me back and then e-mailed me persistently until I called him back.

Okay, I step out for a few days and all hell breaks loose!

Seriously though, I have been corresponding with Sirius via email, and have also been listening to The Pulse, The Trend and Hot Jams over the last week or so, giving them a chance to get things up and running.

I'd like to break down their claims one by one and offer some feedback now that the air has cleared...

Quote:
While we also feel the programming team did a great job with the channel, research we recently conducted indicated that it was not generating the listenership we originally anticipated, with US-1, Classic Rock and I-80, to name a few, scoring so much higher.
Alright, Sirius conducted some research to see which channels are popular. First of all, the company is still very young, and I'd bet that the overwhelming majority of subscribers are middle aged business types. The most subscribers to Sirius are going to be investors and people with an interest in the company. The general public, and the younger generations in particular, are still very much unaware that Sirius exists. This is contributed to their late launch date, lack of advertising, etc. My argument is how can I-90 get cut when they only had about 10,000 subscribers when the research was conducted, and of course the data will be skewed because the subscribers are all mostly 35-50. Rather than ask what the current subscribers want, you have to predict the programming needs of the masses, and the mainstream audience is going to want a 90's channel!

Quote:
In addition, when reviewing all of our great music channel selections, we noticed quite a bit of crossover in the playlists of I-90 and the Pulse. We intend to ensure that The Pulse will pick up even more of the great music from the 90's and hope fans of I-90 like you will agree that we continue to serve those with an ear for this decade of music.
The Pulse is no I-90 replacement. It doesn't even come close, in fact I think it has gotten worse since I-90 was dropped. The Pulse is Adult Contemporary, and I hear a constant overflow of 80's hits, obscure artists that soccer moms dig, love ballads, as well as today's Billboard type hits. Over the past several days, I rarely hear any good 90s tracks. The 90s at Night is horrible, and it's only on the air for less than an hour. How many good artists can you cram into a slot less than an hour long?!? You cannot recreate the depth that I-90 had over a swath of different channels. The Trend is a great channel, but the 90s are void here as well. They shouldn't be here either. Why should The Trend be watered down because I-90 was axed? Sure there may have been some overlap with The Pulse, The Trend and I-90 in the past, but these channels are absolutely no replacement for I-90.

Quote:
Also be sure that the other genre channels, Rock, R&B and Country will continue to play music from the 90's on the appropriate channel within each.
Why should I have to scour other channels, some being formats I rarely listen to, in order to find maybe one good 90s song per day on. It was all there in an easy to find, wonderfully mixed paradise called I-90, and now it is gone.

I wanted to give Sirius ample time to try to get things right, to see if I could live with what they had planned. Will I still enjoy Sirius without I-90? Of course...at least I still have the urban and dance genres. But Sirius was perfect with I-90, why should we have to be happy with anything less than that? I'm not just trying to be difficult, I have listened intensely for the past two weeks, and still firmly believe that Sirius has made the wrong decision. The 60's is a great addition, but not the at the expense of I-90!

I-90 has fans, that is apparent by the outcry and uproar that has been taking place on the Sirius boards since November 4th. Did Sirius act prematurely and without thought and logic? I think so. Will they add I-90 back to the air? Probably not, but that won't stop me from trying to resurrect it. Why won't they add it back? Because they don't want to admit they're wrong.

Jeff

Default I love Jeff!!

Jeff, you are a beautiful man! Every time I read your in-depth analysis of Sirius' F-ups, it brings a tear to my eye. You are the most brilliant and eloquent writer I have ever come across. Are you a journalism major? If not, you might want to consider it.
Sirius should be absolutely blessed to have a man of your caliber on their side!
Everything you say is true and makes perfect sense. Can you please go and apply for a job at Sirius so that you can fix their mistakes? I simply cannot. My anger and frustration over them has caused me to be a very angry and irate person and if I ever step foot inside their offices, their just might be a huge bloodbath!!

Sirius! Listen closely. Pray to God that you dont lose your friend till the end; Tulane Jeff! You will never, EVER, find another fan like this.

Now, bow your head in shame, stick your tongue in our Asses and ever so quietly, and without further ado, PUT THAT GODDAMN 90'S CHANNEL BACK, where it belongs on the dial!! Stop F ing around! Playtime, and experiment time are over! Do you hear me????? I said, its OVER! Just admit you made a mistake! It's okay to make mistakes in life! That is what life is about, however, once a mistake is recognized you FIX IT! You hear me????

FIX IT, FIX IT, FIX IT.!!!! F ING FIX IT!!
NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goddamn you!!!!!!!!

I agree. FIX IT! Put I-90 back on! There are more than enough open channels to do this.

You don't even have to admit to being wrong just put it back on!

I-90, Express 44, what is next to go? Why does it seem when Sirius changes it lineup, the deleted stations cause more a reaction than the addition of new ones? When XM tossed some channels and added new ones, the overall view seemed to be positive. I cant stress enough to Sirius to really think these things out.....5 hip hop channels? Come on now, some of us who listen to Sirius are over 25......

I'm 35 and tend to agree.

There are a few Hip-Hop songs here or there that I like but not enough to warrant 5 damn channels.
