She was calling from the 480 area code. Where would that be located?
I found out today when activating that the promotion was through a company called American Satellte, or they were handling it. The rep asked who I purchased the hard ware from and I said I got it from the F&F deal and he said ok, they mumbled "American Satellite". It might have been something similar, but thats what I thought I heard.

Also the number that is included on the sheet with the P&P unit and kit is a 24/7 number so you can activated anytime

Default Should I take it or return it.

I have a little dilemma I'm going thru right now:

I ordered my audiovox on the 9th with the car kit. I waited almost 2 weeks for it and it was delivered yesterday.

Now the biggest problem is that I bought a Sirius Ready Radio (so I can get the free tuner and one year commitment) earlier this week.

I can do either these things:

I wonder how I can switch from the car kit to a home kit

OR

How do I return the whole package

I don't have enough dough to cover 2 subscriptions :\ But maybe I do...

Any advice will be appericiated and thank you in advance for welcoming me into the Sirius Backstage Forums!!!

Can you spare 12-14 more bucks once?

Don't switch from the car to the home kit.

Instead buy a 12volt adapter from Radio Shock and use the car kit at home. The antenna is better (non-directional) and once you turn the 110volt in your house to the 12v the unit expects there is no reason not to use the car kit.

Many here have used the car kit on purpose. The antenna is omnidirectional and far less fussy.

And welcome aboard.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Welcome to Sirius Backstage. Rather than return the AudioVox, I think you can give it to a friend. So long as they understand they have a 1 year commitment and must activate by 10-30-03, you should be ok and your friend will really like you for it. They pay for the subscription of course

thanks manco!

well I decided to keep the unit and use it for my home listening

Now I can have Sirius in 4 different places:

At home (Audiovox)

In my car (Kenwood Sirius Ready Deck)

And at school/work (Streaming @ Sirius.com)

This is way better than XM

I'm using the AudioVox with the FM Transmitter car kit in my home too, and am quite happy. Just needed a nice 12V cig adapter from Radio Shack to power it. I taped the antenna to my window and get perfect reception, although it took a bit of experimenting to figure out which window was going to work the best.

I too just recieved my Audiovox unit and am looking to activate.

Can I still activate online? Or will I have to pay the activation charge? (Which what was supposed to be free with the F&F deal.)

Any reason not to activate online?

Thanks.
Jeff

I think you have to talk to someone in order for them to wave the activation fee. You can not do that in the online setup. So, if you do it online, you will then have to turn around and call to have them remove the activation fee.

Default F2F Extended through Friday, 10/3

I just called - message on the machine says that the Friends/Family program has been extended through Friday, 10/3!

Message also says you can fax in your order, but it didn't give a fax number. Whoops.
