Just to clear things up, I think it's been answered essentially already, but you select one of the Plug and Play's (Audiovox or Kenwood) and then one of the cradles listed in the first message.

Man, it's totally not fair that one of the DJ's gets to broadcast this deal over the air. I guess he's got a leg up on subscriptions (don't think there's nothing in it for him, either).

Yes, you select one radio and one cradle.

I was tempted to mention one of the other SJ but didn't want to risk it. I don't see why it wouldn't work though.

I ordered my audiovox home unit yesterday. I actually listen to John's show a few times a week...worth tuning into. I imagine you could give the name of any of the DJs that you know of, though. On the stream pages, it lists who the DJs are...I can't imagine they are going to say "are you really a friend of so-and-so?". So, if you don't want to benefit John or OutQ, I'm sure there are ways around it.

G35, I've been hitting the redial button for a while, but can't get past their voicemail. Personally, I think it's a conspiricy to keep me out because I'm a srt8 Republican.

Siriusly, I appreciate the info; one hell of a deal, if I can ever get through. I assume that if this deal were available on-line, someone would've said so. Heck, even snail mail would work. If anyone has alternate methods of access, I'd love to know.

I got the dealer-installed system fully integrated into my new car's standard stereo (including steering wheel controls); in fact, my two free months are up, and I signed on for a lifetime sub just today. Also a gr8 deal!

But a Shuttle is what's required to shuttle between my other vehicle and my house. I'll keep trying...

I note that John McMullen himself posted the offer on the Yahoo SIRI stock board (we're up nicely today, BTW), so that may be what's jamming the phone lines.

Again, thanks for the info.

Welcome to Sirius Backstage

Just keep hitting redial. It took me around 10-15 tries yesterday, and I think the word has spread far and wide now and it might take awhile for them to slow down. Try different times of the day since the call load likely changes throughout the day. Maybe they will add more call lines to handle the demand

Default Extended warranty?

Can you get extended warranty on this deal if you pay more $$? I got Audiovox unit fro CC and got the 4 year warranty since I plan on getting lifetime subscription

I don't think an extended warrantee is an option on this deal. For the lifetime plan, I think going the CC route is the best choice since you can get the extended warrantee.

You can use anyone's name basically for this deal, you do not have to support OutQ if you don't wish to.

Joe Clayton will work for sure.

Default Re: Free Hardware Offer Sold Out Due to Popular Demand

Dear Sirius Backstage members,

Thanks for all your orders under this program. Literally hundreds of you called to get your radio through the friends and family plan. Unfortunately, we've reached capacity for our department. Therefore, we can no longer offer this promotion to listeners. Thanks to all of you who ordered radios. We apologize to those listeners who did not get to order radios under this promotion. Stay tuned for more promotions in the future.

Respectfully,

Tom Rielly

This afternoon, I mentioned on my show that there is now an opportunity to get a free SIRIUS Satellite Radio portable receiver. These are the new units that will work in a home/office or automobile. I'm sending this out to friends and family because, it's the SIRIUS friends and family accommodations program. I'd like to offer you the opportunity to take advantage of this great deal.

Here's how it works....

To be eligible, you have to be a family member... or friend of an employee. And, anyone who listens to my show is DEFINITELY a friend!! Orders for the radios are limited to one system and one activation per participant. Orders must be placed no later than September 30, 2003, and the radio must be activated by October 31st at the very latest. Your acceptance of the hardware authorizes SIRIUS to activate and bill the credit card you use for $77.70 for the first 6 months of service. A one-year programming commitment is required at the time of activation. The second payment of $77.70 for the year's service is due approximately six months later. We will ship the system to the specified shipping address within 72 hours as long as hardware is in stock. You get FREE activation (normally $15). If you choose to deactivate service within the first year, a $30 charge will be billed for the cancellation fee to your credit card.

Now, keep in mind that this program has limited quantities of our new portable radios so if you want to take advantage of this free hardware/free activation offer, you will want to act quickly.

There are two systems to choose from:

1. Kenwood Here2Anywhere System: KTC-H2A1
KPA-H2C (car kit docking station)
KPA-HTH (home kit docking station)

or

2. Audiovox SRS: Satellite Radio Shuttle
SIR-CK1 (car kit with built-in FM transmitter)
SIR-HK1 (home kit)

Here's how you order...

Call 800-466-9742 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern Time, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Saturday, no later than September 30, 2003.

Alert the SIRIUS representative that you are calling in for the Employee Friends & Family Program.

Provide the SIRIUS rep with the following:
Your Name
Your Home Address
Your Phone Number
Your Credit Card Information
Your Hardware Selection (I personally recommend the Audiovox system, but both are cool... Audiovox is best if you plan to get the car kit because it has a built in FM modulator that will allow you to transmit to your existing car stereo)
Give the representative my name, John McMullen, as your employee referral.

Once your system arrives (usually within a week), you will need to install it. It's VERY EASY. However, if you find it confusing, you can take it to a installation service at any of our major retailers. They will charge for this service. But, again, the portable units are easy to install because they don't involve modifying your vehicles. After installing, turn on the radio and select channel 184, the Preview Channel, to confirm that it is working properly.

THEN... Call SIRIUS at 888-539-7474 to Activate the unit.

When you talk with the service representative, you will need to provide them with your contact information and your SIRIUS ID Number from your receiver which will be located on the outside of the system box (it can also be found on the display by pushing the correct buttons detailed in the instruction manual).

At this time, while activating, ask the SIRIUS representative to enter the Promo Code: SIRIUS VIP. This will credit the referral from SIRIUS OutQ, and the company will make a $5 contribution (our money, not yours!!) to GLAAD. With a one-year subscription, you're getting a free month of service (12 for the price of 11 months). If they say they cannot do this, just drop me an e-mail and we'll fix it after your activation is complete.

In fact, once you have activated - FREE!! - drop me a line and let me know that it's workin' and I'll send you a SIRIUS OutQ tee-shirt while supplies last.

Don't wait to get turned on!!

If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail at jmcmullen@siriusradio.com. It's never been easier or less-expensive to get SIRIUS about entertainment! 60 commercial free music channels and 40 great talk channels with limited advertising, including SIRIUS OutQ // 149.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Best,

John McMullen
Program Director

While there is an internal contest, should OutQ win, John intends to donate the money to charity. He's more interested in getting new subscribers.

Thanks to Sirius for this promotion. It created quite a buzz, and I'm just happy to have snapped up a radio for my 2nd subscription before the offer closed
