Default Need help adding a PnP to my pre paid account

I bought a MB with Sirius and it comes with 14 months pre paid (believe me you pay for it though). I would like to get a PnP for my Explorer and in home use. I tried to order from Sirius but it would not let me. I called Sirius and was told that since my account was pre paid by MB that I could not add onto it. Does anyone know a workaround for this or am I being told the wrong info?

Boy that doesn't seem right, you paid for the Mercedes Benz didn't you? So you paid for Sirius then, I would call back to speak to a supervisor if I were you. If that doesn't do it I would write a letter to Sirius and Mercedes Benz.

I was told that the account is in MB name and not mine. That they group all of them together in one large account and that there is no way to add me in as a separate account for PnP without paying full price or wait 14 months when account goes in my name. I was counting on adding Sirius to my other car but not at full price after paying MB full price x2 or more.

That's too bad that they don't offer a 2nd sub for a discount under those circimstances. I can understand why they do it from a technical accunt issue, but you would think that they would have a better way of dealing with it. Sirius is still worth the extra $ for the 2nd sub though. You could try negotiating with them for a lower price like $10/month with a 1 year sub.

I would ask Sirius if you paid for another 3 months (making 17 months paid) if you could add the sub. Can't imagine why they wouldn't allow that.

yeah that seems do-able, ask to pay 3 extra months on the MB, seems than they have to give you a seperate account than add the explorer

Something about this sounds less than kosher. How many Mercedes are sitting on new lots with pre-paid subscriptions on the sticker??????

This is a good idea, you should see if they will let you prepay for another 12 months @ $12.95 to follow your MB subscription.

You could also create a new account for your PnP and then reactivate the MB radio once the subscription is up.

Not sure if you are doubting my word but here is a picture of my car and sticker. All MB that have Sirius have a 14 month prepaid. Go to MB homepage click on "build your own" then click the accessories tab and then the hyperlink for Sirius and you will see the following.

"...SIRIUS satellite radio is a subscription-based service, available on a monthly, annual, or lifetime basis. Included with your purchase of the SIRIUS hardware is one year of service, plus two bonus months from SIRIUS, for a total of 14 months service from the start."

Now is this a little more kosher for you?

Hey William, Sweet Ride. I like that car.

I am in no way calling you a liar. My issue is that by having Mercedes install pre-activated receivers, Sirius could be adding subscriptions to their tally that are not really active subscriptions. As an accountant, I am questioning their bookkeeping practices and whether they pulled a fast one in order to get that million subscribers.

Then again, I am 90% sure that XM has issues with the way they count subscribers so what is good for the goose.........
