Default Changes in sound quality on some channels this week

I was just wondering if others had noticed the changes in sound quality on some channels this week. I know they have improved the sound to their in-house talk channel, Sirius Central 148, and I fear they've done this by taking some of the bandwith from some of the music stations.
I am a huge fan of "the Beat 66", and earlier this week, their was a very noticeable drop in the sound quality of "the Beat". If you now flip up from "Area 63" or "Boombox" or "Chill" you will notice that all 3 of those now sound much deeper and fuller and better than "the Beat". This hadn't been the case until this week. It seems to me that if Sirius was going to take bandwith from one of the channels, it wouldn't be the big, mainstream dance hits channel, that certainly is the most listened to in the dance category. Why not take it from one of the smaller, more niche, channels like "Boombox" or "Chill"?
Anyway, I've e-mailed Sirius and I hope they will restore the previous sound quality to "the Beat". It's great that they have improved the sound on some of the talk channels, like Sirius Central, but doing this at the expense of the sound quality of the music channels just seems really dumb to me.
Also, besides the changes at "the Beat", I've noticed changes in the sound quality of several other channels this week as well. "Starlite" Ch. 2, and "Shade 45" both seem noticeably better this week. While, "Totally 70's" sounds like it might have lost some bandwith. Also, "the Jazz Cafe" isn't sounding quite as good either. And the processing on "Hits 1" sounds different now too.
I can see Sirius wanting the best sound on their channels with big name, in-house talent (like Sirius Central and Shade 45), but to do this at the expense of bandwith to other music channels doesn't make sense to me. I sure hope that when Howard's channels come on, they don't steal bandwith from the music channels again to make them sound good. I hope that improvements in the system will create enough new bandwith by that time that that won't happen.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had noticed these changes in sound quality on "the Beat" and several other channels earlier this week. I hope other fans of "the Beat" will let them know that this is a big mistake and we would really like the old sound quality restored.

yeah I hear ya they just need to improve on their system to be able to create more bandwith where it is needed instead of adding bandwith to one stream by removing it from another stream that makes no sense to me at all they shouldn't be doing what they are now

Yes, I noticed the same thing

World Radio Network now has better sound quality than before. It doesn't have that annoying echo artifact anymore.

...and the vault does have that annoying echo. Funny sometimes it seems that the longer my radio is powered up, the better it sounds.

There can be little doubt that some stations get less bandwidth at certain times and more at others -- so don't be surprised if some sound better (or worse) over several hours. The allocations appear to be based on presumed peak listening times for each stream.

What I noticed about this is that it is now at a lower volume on my radio. When I go from another channel to Sirius Central I have to turn up the volume to make it the same as others. This has been the case with Faction since I got Sirius. Usually 2 levels of volume equals it out, but it is kind of annoying when flipping stations.

Me too. Thought it might be a codec update but sorry to hear that other channels have suffered.

My guess is that they have tweaked the codec some. This may work really well on talk and not so well on certain types of music content. Of course, there have also been a ton of complaints about the SQ on talk so a resource shift isn't totally out of the question either.

OutQ seems to have gotten somewhat worse on voice and music.

yeah The Beat is the most mainstream of all the techno/electronica music stations. Doesn't make sense to me.
