well....signal on water street, east of wall and also around the chinatown area is not as strong as i'd expect it to be. I thought the f.d. would be better covered. :\

If you can document your outages and then call CS with your report of where, when (time and day), and direction of travel, it will help SIRIUS know about areas that may need a repeater. I am not familiar with NYC enough to know where you are talking about, but I am guessing the problem is due to the tall buildings and not overpasses?

I was actually just thinking about this when I realized that I had three bars going over the lower level of the GW bridge. I havnt noticed any real problems in the city...the NJ Tpk on the other hand is a different story.

actually taking place on the west side highway from about the bridge to about 79th street at intermittant spots where there are no overpasses & really no tall buildings to block a signal that i can see. i have had some trouble on both levels of the GWB . it seems to be a litlle worse now then it was a few days ago. good idea re cs if it continuues, particularly since my xm seems not to have as much of this

I get alot of dead spots on the saw mill in westchester between yonkers and where it meets up with the thruway in elmsford, alot of tree coverage
on that section of road. Maybe i'll get out there with a chainsaw one of these days and fix the problem

....it would be great to have repeaters in the tunnels! For now I have CD's just for the Holland and Lincoln.

Default NYC tunnels - repeaters?

Does anyone know if Sirius is going to install repeaters in the NYC tunnels? Since the cell phone companies managed to do, I am guessing that it is technically feasible.

I thought I have been able to listen to Sirius in the Lincoln tunnel. Possibly it was Kim Ashley VT'ing an NYC station, but I am pretty sure I was listening to the Pulse in the Lincoln either in the end of January or first of February.

Then again, I could be totally nuts.

Or NYC repeaters could be like those in Philly which do not work worth a crap under the El-Train where it comes out of the ground in Old City near my house.

I'm always impressed when I drive down 495 on the approach to the tunnel. Even through all those overpasses you still get service. There must be a repeater in West NY, or whatever town that is.

This past Saturday I went to see a concert at Lincoln Center NYC. I live in Danbury CT and for those who know the roads: 84-684-Hutch-Cross County-Saw Mill-West Side Hwy, I never lost the signal. When I was on Riverside Drive I checked the signal and it was 100% terrestrial, in CT it always is the satellite. Very happy with the signal, not so happy with the $28.00 dollar parking fee.

You're right, but I can remember when parking under Lincoln Center was about half that amount. At least I know that my Sirius Radio will keep on going the whole trip.
