Much better. Direct Connection.

Connection is huge in sound quality. Play a CD, then play FM modulated Sirius and you'll see a big difference.

What your running makes another big difference. Factory radios / speakers, regardless of what they sold you or told you are inferior to aftermarket parts in every way.

Some people don't care, don't know the difference but changing out your headunit and speakers will always improve quality. If you put a small amp on your speakers that will also make a big difference. Especially at higher sound levels.

Sure all this costs money and for many what they already have is great. However in most cases for less than people spend on factory upgrades you can have a really nice system installed. If you do it yourself its even cheaper. Not too mention the quality will be much much higer.

Sounds exactly as expected.

Home setup is a aux connected to stereo. Sirius sounds way better with this than even static-free FM.

Car setup is wired-FM. Sirius with this connection sounds about equal to static-free FM.

So it's both "sounds better" and "sounds the same" for me. You need to elaborate on the specific choices since people aren't allowed to choose more than one.

Headunit, amp and speakers make a BIG difference even with a direct connection in the car.

At home, a toslink like the Kenwood DT700S also makes a difference from a PNP hooked through RCA jacks.

I have an Alpine Head Unit, with Polk Speakers, and its hooked direct to an Alpine Sirius Tuner. It sounds awesome and I get the shakes now when I am in a car without satellite.
