Default Please Stop Broadcasting Sports Coverage On Talk Central 148

With the NFL season (and others) approaching, that means certain channels will share broadcasting time with Sports Play-by-Play coverage. Please remove Talk Central 148 from that lineup.

There are plenty of other channels such as E!, The Word Network, and EWTN that could broadcast this coverage. It makes no sense whatsoever to broadcast sports coverage on SIRIUS's Flagship Talk Channel and cutting off shows suddenly with no warning. It's very disrespectful to both the listening audience and the people producing the show.

BTW, this is coming from a sports fan.

I agree with you but EWTN pays for the channel so that won't happen. I do think that they could use others such as Court TV and E.

Yes.. I don't know why they can't have 5 or so extra channels that are normally dead (not using any bandwidth), then use them for overflow on days with lots of sports..

I don't like the RadioClassics channel getting preempted.. That's the only non-music channel I listen to regularly and one of the reasons I got satellite radio.

They could do like Directv does and just have a bunch of channels that are previews or put NFL Radio on every single one of them for the NFL games. And they could keep it low bandwidth until the actual games are broadcasted.

They need to follow XM's lead and add more dedicated sports channels.

XM has fourteen dedicated channels for baseball alone.

Time out. THIS IS FACT... SIRIUS AND XM HAVE THE EXACT SAME BANDWIDTH AMOUNT!!!!!! XM has no more bandwidth and they really make their subscribers bend over by leaving channels blank like that with a short message or preview playing when a game isn't. What that does is make them have to use a smaller bandwidth for things that people are listening to at that time... music! Bottom line is that more people sign up for Sirius for NFL than for 148 or many other entertainment channels. Really how often on a Sunday are you listening to 148. And on Monday night, that is a replay durning MNF anyway. It won't change. I understand it can be frustrating, but Sirius has to try and make things work for the majority.

Please don't state false comments like "XM has more bandwidth" or the like unless you have tangible proof of your claims. It confuses people who quickly look at a forum and don't check back. Then they tell others "Oh XM has more bandwidth". The FCC issued both companies the same bandwidth.
