Default Sirius Channel Reorg

Howard leaked this morning, he's getting 100-102

and we know BBC Radio 1 is going to 11.

Any others?

100-102? Odd. That would put Howard right in between Horizons and CNN - giving the bump to CNBC and Bloomberg. They must be planning a major channel re-org if that were the case. I would have expected that he would land among the other talkers.

Three cheers for a huge software download to move it all around. Maybe they will be stretching channel numbers out - to better fit in more channels under future compression. i.e. To add another rock channel, something would have to get axed - or nearly every music channel would have to shift up.

As for me, I'll be tuning into channel 7461, Bay City Rollers Radio - All Bay City Rollers 24/7 and channel 23,891 The Weather Channel Radio Holland, Michigan.

I'd take anything that comes out of Howard's mouth with a grain of salt, remember the 3M sub thing? Although, this isn't as out there.

But yea, if this is true we're in for a major re-orginization. Since I seriously doubt Stern's channels will be considered news.

I was listening to Howard this morning. It sounded definite. He will be on channel 100 and he will program 100-102

I don't think that Howard knows where he's going to be either. They may have told him those channels but I don't think they're going to uproot their whole channel-genre structure to put him there.

I don't know... we already know BBC Radio 1 is destined for 11.

It looks like 100-102 would be a good place for Howard, I wrote about this chat on his show today on my Blogg.. getsiriusinfo.blogspot.com I have talked to my buddy at Sirius, who tells me that It looks like when something happens it will be a few stations changing numbers, and Howard getting a home (or homes).. Some are calling this "The usual annual tweaking" others, some big changes..today I tried to get a date, he would not say anything..

Its about time for a channel reorg. 125 has turned into a dumping ground for "lost" programs. I'd like to see Sirius dedicate some channels to Live Sports. Even if it means going silent on the channels currently pre-empted for sports during the game, dedicated and contiguous channel numbers would be an improvement. Just trying to poke around the radio and find the games is a PITA!!!

I think that's why they are adding the game zone to most PNPs, it'll make games/scores easier to find.

I really wish that they would put WSM in Country, Kids Stuff with Disney, etc. RM and BBC1 are pop.

I second the motion for dedicated sports channels on Sirius.

I've got to admit that XM has Sirius beat in that regard. XM has fourteen dedicated channels for MLB.
