Default Upcoming Line Up Change

We have all heard rumors about the impending lineup changes. We even have a thread where some people have put forth their lineups. I put mine together using much of the feedback that has come up time and time on this board. I wondered how many people would be happy if this was the new line up. I know that it is impossible to make everyone happy, but hey we can still give it a shot, right?

Sounds OK to me. I dont listen to any of those stations, so it doesn't really matter to me. As long as people's presets are to the channel stream and not the channel number, I bet people won't care too much.

Did they drop any streams? Every time they drop a stream, they run the risk of loosing customers. XM dropped their heavy metal station, Liquid Metal, and they lost a lot of people over that decision.

You know me, I would probably listen to the Punk channel more than I listen to HA today, however, a Funk channel would be awesome!

I think this line-up is excellent. Good work. Now, if Sirius Mgmt would pay attention we might get somewhere.

Theres definently a channel missing, like retro (last 10 years) dance music, sort of between what the beat should be and strobe.

I don't think a HITS 2 would be a terrible thing either....

faction 28 should stay the way it is - with the studio, hosts, etc...

i wouldn't mind a little more punk on it and a little less hip-hop but it's great already overall

Get work TX, I would be very happy with this lineup. Only problem might be that I see 7 additions (BBC Radio 1, Chinese, Korean, Hot Adult Contemporary, Express, Soundscapes, Vacation), and only 2 deletions (Starlite/Love merge and Horizons). Not sure the math will work with that.

I want to tweek your rock section slightly, moving channels so like channels are closer to one another.

ROCK

Classic Vinyl – 14
Classic Rewind – 15
The Vault – 16
Jam_On – 17
The Spectrum – 18
Buzzsaw – 19
Octane – 20
Hard Attack – 21 moved
Hair Nation – 22 moved
Alt Nation – 23 moved
First Wave – 24 moved
Left of Center – 25 moved
Sirius Disorder – 26 moved
Underground Garage – 27 moved
Punk – 28
Sirius Blues - 29

Hard Attack and Hair Nation belong near Octane and Buzzsaw, IMHO.

WSM definately belongs in the country section. The problem may be that they have commercials (I must admit that I have not personally listened to the channel).

Radio Disney makes perfect sense in a kids section, but again the issue is that they play commercials.

Default Nice Lineup

Cool lineup! Sirius definitely needs a soundscapes stream (or something new age), but doesn't it fit better in the Jazz category? XM has Fine Tuning and Audio Visions, but they aren't in the dance category. OR could chill and soundscapes be merged into one channel?

Also, there have been lots of complaints about Boombox 61 as well as the lacking of dance music from 10-15 years ago. I would suggest keeping the Boombox title with stream 61, but change the format of the stream to this "Classic" dance format. The music on Boombox 61 really does belong in the hip-hop category (or merged into Backspin 43). Another possibility could be to play "Classic" dance on the strobe and cut back on the disco. Opinions on this?

I sure hope they don't get rid of Movin' Easy 4 because I love that station! I know there have been suggestions to eliminate it from the lineup, but I hope that doesn't happen.

your right, get rid of Boombox, it's worthless and make it a classic dance station from the past 10-20 years or change the strobe's format.

To be honest I don't listen to any of the Dance channels, other than Chill and Soundscapes when we had it.

If we had to merge Classic Vinyl and Classic Rewind into "The Rock" (what it was before) I would gladly do that to get back Audiovisions, the Express, or Vacation. I would also give up all but 1 weather channel, E, Discovery Channel Radio, Wisdom, Channel 144, Sirius Patriot (just move Laura Ingraham to Sirius Right), and you might even be able to merge The Bridge and Movin EZ. Not sure how much room they have.

As usual, as long as we stay away from politics we agree completely. I would Love to have a real punk stream. I don't have XM in the car and I really miss fungus. I'd listen to a funk stream a lot too I think that motown Monday from 60's could be extended to a full stream too!

Yep, I like those ideas, but I don't know if they'd have enough room for that. BTW, thanks again for the gmail invite TX.
