Fine fine..

To those potential new subscribers, I recommend that you keep in mind that Sirius has previously had a modern-rock/alternative channel that was completely free of radio-edit material. We want you to be informed of Sirius' total disregard of their censorship_OFF claims and their change in programming of this genre without warning nor communication to it's customers. So take a listen for yourself and then decide is Sirius is for you. But other than that, we think Sirius Rocks, and so should you.

I agree that you would hope potential subscribers would see that and I agree with you. But I know how people tend to read the first page of a thread and never read any futher before they draw some sort of conclusion.

Believe me SIRIUS didn't have anything to do with my statement, it was my own based on my opinion that I don't want to see potential subscriber not subscribe based on this issue alone.

I think mine sounds better as it clearly informs people of the real situation.
They don't have to warn us, it says in the user, and I quote:

"Accordingly, we reserve the unrestricted right to change, rearrange, add, or delete programming, including cancelling, moving or adding particular channels, and our prices, at any time, with or without notice to you."

Would it would have been nice for them to tell us? Yes. But you'd still be pissed.

Joker, you seem to be the only one who I've talked to that says it hasn't changed. Another way you can tell this is you are the only one that is really putting up a stink about our actions.

No, as I've said over and over again, if they were to set the record straight I'd be completely fine with it. However, arbitrary information passed around by CSR's, anonymous sources on blogs, and executives from Sirius which do not match is at the very least horrible business practice. So since Sirius won't do it, and we know they won't because they state they won't, it is our job as fellow subscribers to keep the public informed. We PAY for this service and should have a definition of what it is we are paying for. There is no room for gray areas. In order to take money, the service or product must be defined in black and white. Would you pay for Internet service that was "it'll be on when we feel like it without notice to you"?

Ok, I'll be sure to tell Chad and Jimbo, just for example, that their posts aren't stinky enough. Thanks. And of course, there is this from the owner of this very board:

The fact that more people don't seem concerned about this situation truly shows that your loyalties are misplaced and smells of "fanboyism".

SISO, please don't resort to reading some ridiculous disclaimer. You guys seem to be taking every desperate measure available to justify your actions and are really starting to sound like you've been brainwashed by SIRIUS execs. Do you even believe what you're saying?

Have you actually read this thread? I see quite a few people upset about this situation.

I was actually referring to the people that were making a stink about the thread in general. Ok, joker, you aren't the only one, but I can count on one hand the amount of people who are.

Fanboy?

I don't like the idea of censorship.
Sirius Hits 1 has went a little "FM" as of late.
I wish they had a cinemagic type station.
Customer Service sucks (in a good number of cases).
Maxim could you use some major work. (sorry you-know-who)
There are too many commercials on the talk channels.
I wish they didn't wait until the CC to announce sub #s.
Signing Richard Simmons is a waste.

And I can count on one hand the amount of folks who decided to unsticky this thread and just let it die, claiming that we have a victory on this issue. However, here are the facts:

Alt nation is STILL to this day playing radio-edit music. Alt nation is playing the same amount of radio-edit music that it has since this change in programming. I'm sure that there are people who could care less.. It's Alt Nation, who cares.. but if they start with one channel, it will spread, especially if we back down now. You mods may have decided to unstick this thread, but I assure you I will keep this thread up at the top so that every member or guest sees it.

Good. Then buck up and show it. It IS happening. It hasn't gone away.

If it were true that we were brainwashed and just a bunch of fanboy's then the fact is most of you would have been banned and this thread closed a long long time ago. Instead we have given you folks a forum that you are free to post your concerns in an honest and open manner.

The brainwashing and fanboyism comments just aren't going to fly and it appears to just be efforts to get us defensive about our decision, but that isn't going to happen.

I think our position as stated by Jeff is pretty clear. Folks can decide to stay focused on the decision that was made by SBS or you can get back to the real focus, which is censorship.

Chad I have indeed read this thread not just once but a couple of times and our actions do not change or reduce this process, unless you folks decide to allow it too.

Well, you have every right to post to this thread. Although if people find you are the only one complaining I don't think they'll take it to seriously.

You are right, it's still happening, that's why this thread isn't gone (and it's why the one in Sirius Music isn't gone), but Hot Jamz, First Wave, and Faction are not being censored anymore. And also many reports indicate that the censorship is less on Alt Nation.

That has been my focus from the start. In every post I have been on topic, even when criticizing a decision the mods (though I have a feeling not all of them) have made. I just have informed you how I will continue the good fight since you have since given up in light of your "victory" against absolutely nothing. I will state it again, Alt Nation still is to this hour playing radio-edits.

I certainly have not allowed the decisions of the few to affect the dissatisfaction of the many.

We truly have lost if I am the only one complaining about radio-edits. Yeah, some victory. And for the record, I can state that Faction and First Wave never have played radio edits that I have heard. Try telling Jason Ellis that he has to play radio-edits.

Where are these reports of less censorship? Please point them out.

Ok, to be fair to both sides of this issue, lets use natural selection...

This thread (which seems to be what we're fighting about now), should be allowed to function on its own without help from either side..

Lets see if the thread lives without being bumped unnaturally, or dies without being deleted...

Let the majority decide... We've gotten way off our intended focus here.. We're fighting about whether to continue the fight against censorship (which we all seem to be against)... This thread has also gotten so large to the point where new readers wont read it cuz its too huge...
