Just got a letter that I sent to Jay Clark sent back to me saying "Attempted - Not Known....Return to Sender"
I copy and pasted the address right from Sirius website.

I think they are actively ignoring what we are trying to tell them.
They are turning a blind eye to the whole thing.

I don't see any reference to "uncensored" anywhere on their website anymore. I guess SIRIUS has abandoned this policy altogether?

soon the only edge Sirius will have over normal radio is that its commercial free. Yet once subscribers get pissed off with all the censorship and start dropping off and canceling then Sirius might be forced to put more commercials on the stations to make up for lost revenue. Then what will their edge be? Who is going to want to pay $12.99 for censored and commercialized radio?? Oh and did I mention that the reception can be an issue indoors?

Wake up SIRIUS and get with the program!!!

Notice they say, "These channels include..."? They're probably not done deciding which channels to censor. What a crock of shit. The first three are among my favorite channels. I, for one, will not be renewing my annual membership when it expires in December...and I am a huge Stern fan from way back. It pains me to have to this, but I won't pay for censored music.

I wrote a letter (an actual type-written, signed letter via snail-mail) explaining all this to SIRIUS. I copied Mel Karmazin, Joseph P. Clayton, David J. Frear, Mary Pat Ryan, and Jay Clark. I seriously doubt any of them will even read it since it didn't say the word "SPRINT" anywhere on the return address. Hey now! There's an idea. *scratches chin with evil grin*

I'd like to reiterate: WAKE UP SIRIUS!

Well I for one will be here, I don't have an issue with some censored channels. It's just really not that big of a deal for me to hear all the filth and that is what this is all about isn't it. Hearing the filth?

I've had this conversation with many people I know that have Sirius and most don't even notice it and those that do could care less. So there won't ever be a mass exodus that just isn't going to happen.

Again, I have no problem with folks standing up for this issue, but I still think its being over dramatized when for most subscribers it just isn't an issue. I do understand that for some it is, but even if all those left Sirius it would just be a drop in the bucket.

In regards to home reception. Get that antenna outdoors and in most cases the problem is resolved.

You're joking, right? Please tell me you're joking.

This has nothing to do with hearing the filth. I am offended by your comment and had to chuckle out loud when I read it. If you think that's all it's about, then you missed the point.

This is about hearing the music as it was intended to be heard...as written by the artist when they wrote the song. End of story (at least for me). When you censor or edit words out of a song, it's no different than deleting sentences from a book or editing a movie for television. It changes the artist's intent.

It has nothing to do with the filth. please!!

isn't Faction a punk, hip-hop , rock station? what kind of rocket scientist would choose to censor a genre of music that was born on free expression and speach. I mean come on guys! why can' they censor stations like adult contemp. , top 40 , hits stations things that apeal more to the general public not stations that have a hard core following for the music they play.
This is like HBO censoring a Chris Rock show over Bill Cosby .

It's a sad thing they sold out to Sprint! I sure won't pay an extra $6.95 on my Sprint to listen to Sirius. Why would you listen to music on a cellphone anyway? It's bad enough people are walking and driving around with their phone stuck to their head and not paying attention.

You have got to be joking. How many people signed up with Sirius just to get Howard Stern. Why did Stern jump to Sirius? Because he was sick and tired of being CENSORED. Sirius was the place for him to go be UNCENSORED. People buying Sirius on Sterns reccomendation are going to assume it is uncensored. Talking down to Sirius subscribers for them wanting to hear filth when you're whole existence is based on Howard Stern. LAME

OK, not caring about the censored versions of songs is one thing, but to call it filth is another. You're now putting a judgment on people's musical preferences and the artists work.

Most of Franks Zappa's music by your standards is filth. I would think that the vast majority of music critics would consider him a major contributor to the music of our lifetime. The "vulgar" language in a considerable amount, not all, of music is there not for shock value but is the artists best way of conveying their message. To remove this "filth" is to take away a major component of the music itself. To me music is more than just entertainment. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. And that perhaps is the biggest reason poeple are so upset by this move. Sure the channels I listen to the mst are affected by this, but who's to say they won't be at some future date? I think the censorship of the music channels should be VERY limited, if at all.

In any case, Sirius has at least in the past made direct claims to oppose censorship. While this is government mandated censorship and we are free to take our dollars elsewhere, it is none the less disappointing.

Well nothing is going to help at this point, right? Sirius and Sprint signed a deal and Sirius has to keep up their end of the bargain. It bites. Seems to me that those who signed up for "uncensored Sirius" would likely have a lawsuit if the company changed the agreement without informing you first.

So let me get this straight, because you hear beep instead of F**K it changes the meaning of the song? Sorry I am just not buying it.

Hey I have no problem with you guys fighting this issue, but again I don't think most care that much about it. Remember the folks on this forum are a small, small footprint of the overall subscriber base. Generally it is those that a bit more technical minded that find forums like this that are even aware that this is going on.

If it isn't about hearing the filth then I stand corrected, but again I am not buying that a beep changes the meaning of a song when it replaces a curse word.

Howard Stern will not be censored anymore than Shade45 is censored. Both services XM and SIRIUS have censored and uncensored channels and I don't see that changing. Just because certain channels won't be playing uncensored version doesn't mean you can't hear it on another that will. Though that may not be the case all the time.

Also I am not passing judgement on any ones musical preferences or artist, I am simply giving an opposing view, which is just as valid as anyone elses. I think it is great that folks are so passionate about hearing music in its raw form and I can even agree that is the way is should be played. But Sirius never promised that it would be that way on every single channel. Perhaps I am just more accepting. Its sort of like an audiophile versus the average listener. SQ is an issue for them whereas for the most of us it isn't. In my opinion this issue is the same. Those that are passionate about music to that degree will be more concerned about this issue than those that aren't. Again... I support your efforts, but have a different opinion so no offense was intended.
