I've had this conversation with many people I know that have Sirius and most don't even notice it and those that do could care less. So there won't ever be a mass exodus that just isn't going to happen.

Again, I have no problem with folks standing up for this issue, but I still think its being over dramatized when for most subscribers it just isn't an issue. I do understand that for some it is, but even if all those left Sirius it would just be a drop in the bucket.
Well, at least we know now where your priorities are and why you aren't supporting the "Censorship_Off" campaign and displaying the banner. While the rest of us are continuing to fight this needless censorship on SIRIUS and defending our "filth", you can listen to Revolution in a couple of days and idly sit by.

I honestly don't know if I'm more offended by the fact that you refer to it as "filth", or that you basically just reduced us to a handful of people who only care about the cursing. You COMPLETELY missed the point.

I just lost a hell of a lot of respect for you.

Sometimes censorship is more then a beep here or there. It could be a chunk of the song taken out or a song that was edited to fit the commercial radio format.

I guess the bottom line is that the Mod is right , the majority of the people don't know about this problem or really care that much to make a huge movement. So its really a matter of how squeaky is the wheel here to be heard.

Just like in politics we must realize that the majority of our country is ruled by people who are conservative and religious.
The same people who lead Bush into his second term are these people who are all for censorship. They also control large corporations including Sirius. They will always make the slide in the way things are. Sad but true.

I am okay with that Chad, I have an opinion and I gave it. Like I said in my previous post if I was wrong about this being about the filth and it appears that I was then I stand corrected. I can see based on the responses from others that it is more about passion for the music, so I appreciate those replies. It always helps when people express how they feel. Do you think I am the only person that felt the big deal about all this was so that folks could hear curse words? I was just brave enough to type it.

In regards to banner campaigns I have never particpated in them and I never will. That is my right and it doesn't mean you know anything about my priorities.

I will indeed be listening to Revolution come Thursday because I and a lot of other people requested such a channel and we got it. But that has ZERO to do with this issue.

I support you and the others being passionate about censorship, but I standby my claim that for most it isnt' as big an issue. I truly hope you succeed. I also do think that Sirius got the message and while I don't think every channel will ever been totally uncensored a lot of them will be.

That was my point and why I gave my opinion. I feel that the bulk of subscriber really aren't enaged in this and for the most part don't care. I guess I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

In regards to the filth comments I can see I was wrong about that, so I apologize.

Just a word of warning, don't bring politics into this discussion, this isn't about that or else this topic will get moved to the hidden political assylum and I don't think that would help the cause at all.

Chad, you should be glad I posted on this topic today. Sometimes an opposing opinion will bring life to an otherwise slow or dormant topic.

Terrible idea Sirius !

Up until this censorship I have had absolutely nothing negative to say about your service. I'll be writing and emailing my complaints too. I've been away from this forum for a while, but when I recently heard edits on Alt nation I had to come here to get the scoop.

Yes they do and this issue has been noted by them. We have never really gotten a response which isn't good. It was posted by blogger with a Sirius contact that they they had taken notice. But apparently these channels are still being censored to some degree. I am not sure Sirius can back off this if they have a signed agreement with Sprint, but I guess time will tell.

You can add Backspin 043 to the list of stations playing edited music. What a joke!

It would be nice if they at least let the listners of each station vote on wether they care or not if their favorate station is censored or not. I'm sure there are some stations people wouln't care or welcome censorship where there are other stations that would really be disrupted by censorship. I think it comes down to choosing the right channels for sprint. I just think it not wise to take a punk rock or say hip hop station and start cutting up the songs and limit the DJ from being free to say what he wants to say.

Hows about since we got so many dead air space channels right now, sirius could put on uncensored versions of the channels they censored. then everyone's happy... for a while anyway

Has this censoring started in full effect yet? I was just listing to Faction 28 and herd a Jay-Z song and there were some choice words heard. I have no problem with it at all!! I like the station and don't think that this station should be censored but I thought I seen it on the "hit" list. I pray they changed their minds cause that station really needs to be kept free of censorship.

I was really hoping with the new channel updates having took place, things would go back to the way they were. Not the case.

You can add the brand-new channel The Coffee House to the list already. The acoustic version of Alanis Morissette's One Hand In My Pocket had the chicken shit part bleeped out. Even my local FM rock station used to play this song uncut all the time.
