Without any intent to start a political discussion/debate on here, I consider myself a Conservative. Censorship has its time and place.

HOWEVER, I feel that the music and comedy on Sirius (and XM for that matter) should be Open and Uncensored. It should be a parent's responsibilty to monitor what programs their children listen to, just as what's suggested in regards to television programming.

I figure I'm paying $12.95/mo for Sirius, and have for quite some time, and since it's a subscription-based service, I should have access to listen to whatever I'd like without any alteration in lyrics or programming.

Simply if I don't want to hear something, I won't listen to it. I'm not a big fan of EMINEM, so rather than saying that they should Censor his channel, or ban his channel, I simply don't listen to it.

Big Government doesn't need to get any Bigger. If they want to monitor and regulate AM/FM as in the past, that's fine. However, I think that they are going too far in trying to control subscription-based services.

My .02 worth!!! Take care and Rock on with the Big Dog!!!!

So what does this all mean one day they will broadcast the HBO comedy hour on Cingular and all of a sudden HBO will start censoring the TV show so people like Chris Rock and others will be bleeped out. Just doesn't seem right, I though if one pays for a subscription he is entiteled to censorship-free content.

Default Fight Censorship on SIRIUS!

This shouldn't`t even be a discussion, almost EVERY every electronic device that can broadcast "ADULT CONTENT" can B locked out.If ppl that R repulsed by adult content would take as much time reading the manuals 4 their equipment instead of bitchin` to remove adult content from the air they could find better things 2 do with their time.

P.S. IF U DON`T LIKE WHAT U R HEARING PLZ JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL AND STOP TRIPPIN`.

Default FIGHT CENSORSHIP ON SIRIUS!!!

While some are not Eminem fans, I happen to be a big one. Shade 45 was actually what made me look into Sirius as another gadget for me to purchase. I got it for X-mas last year and haven't looked back!!
The selling point was the lack of censorship was also a big selling point. While I can understand having Hits 1 censored I think anything more is just outrageous. My E-mail is already sent displaying my feelings on the matter. It is just ridiculous that Sprint can have this affect on Sirius to censor something that was a key point for many of us subscribers for escaping AM/FM radio.

Like Em says on one of the promos on Shade 45 "Welcome to radio where we can play whatever the FUCK we want to play!"

Welcome 2 the Sirius and the SBS family.

Luckily 45 is the only station that I know of that can play what they want..all the other DJ`s are bound by a play list which means TOP 40 OLDIES WITHOUT COMMERCIALS and almost NO FUNK.Sirius sprinkels in a couple of tracks 2 B able 2 say yes we play Funk but if U want 2 hear some Funk U will have 2 scan channels 4ever or get an XM sub.Howard and the express(which used to B the channel 4 Funk)was my main reason 4 coming 2 Sirius,I am really starting 2 feel I made a mistake coming 2 Sirius.XM has a wider verity of music catered towards the 35+ "black audience".

Let's be patient and see what comes about on Sept 29th, when the channel changes take place. Afterall, some changes and concessions may be in the works (like clearly stating which channels will be uncensored, etc...). We should even give the new programming a couple days to sink in to ensure we are giving a fair evaluation of the censorship on SIRIUS.

Then, we can as a community figure out where the campaign goes.

Does that sound fair to you all?

Well, the channel changes have taken place and things obviously haven't gotten any better. In fact, it actually seems things are getting worse.

I propose we get this thread back up as a sticky again and keep doing what we've been doing. Sitting on our asses waiting for something to just happen will accomplish absolutely nothing.

That's your opinion, which isn't shared by a significant majority of SBS members, judging by the poll responses in the new channel threads.

I was only referring to the censorship issues, not whether or not I like the new channels. There's no denying censorship is taking place on certain channels...that's 100% fact.

I think this thread is fine, some channels have always been censored and I think this thread can be mis-leading. The truth is a small portion of the songs in their library are censored.

U dont think the programming is unfair? I`m sure your favorite genre is represented out of 65 music channels Sirius cant alot a channel for 1 genre. When it comes to programming for 35+ black audience Sirius has a fucked up attitude. The main reason I got Sirius was because of the Express 44 and Howard.Instead of bringing back the express or even programming more funk what does Sirius do add another rock channel all rolling stones channel which was supposed to stop on the 29th but guess what it aint gonna happen.Theres more to "black music" than Motown.

Y unsubscribe because I bring attention to the fact that Sirius` programming is one sided?

No, because you are un-happy, and according to your posts have been for quite some time. Money speaks louder than words.

Anyways, let us keep this topic on track, my bad.

Tow-Tow-Tow the compay line gently down the stream.

Man could you be any more of a company lackey? Anytime someone points out a glaring problem that if corrected would make the service that we pay for so much better, you just badger them and their ideas.
is with you man?

<-- hey look its sirius.....
