I tried to address all the questions below, and I'm not real good at this quote thing, so I didn't bother trying... so here it goes...

The only thing I can do is give you my interpretation of it... THIS IS NOT FROM THEM... just want to make sure I'm not putting words in anyones mouth...

I think that the sprint deal may have made a valid reason for them to censor Alt. Nation, but it's probably something they wanted to do anyway (but may not have)...

The Bridge is censored (in the "Pop" category) and Spectrum appeals to the "AAA" crowed which is males in the upper 30's and 40's. (different crowd) and yes, I can't answer for the other 3, you are right... there is a change here, and it seems to be due to the Sprint thing...

Yes they should make it clear to subs what they plan on doing, but sometimes in corporate america (which I'm certain some of you know), it takes meeting after meeting after meeting to figure out what size paper clips to order... so, they know that communicating the wrong information, or puting it the wrong way could be more damaging than not saying anything at all... I'm sure that they are not ignoring us, but they know once it's in writing, it will be iron clad and there will be no side stepping it. They are doing the corporate thing and waiting out the storm before they make any formal statements. I work for a gigantic corporation, and this kind of crap happens every single day.... it's really mind numbing.

It seems that they do look at this forum, probably at what's on the front page will catch their eye, and this did. I believe they were surprised at the level of anger from the subs, and maybe you're right, maybe they will think more than twice before they do something like this again.

All in all, it showed a great deal of concern for them to bother calling me and talking with me... 1 subscriber, with no power to do anything but cancel one subscription.

Jay or Steve, if you are reading this and feel that I have misrepresented anything you have said, you probably still have my number, feel free to call me and I will correct whatever I have misunderstood.

Thanks a lot for that musicphile that was awesome of you to get through and actually have convo with people higher up than CS.

Now it sucks to have all 4 of the channels censored but my biggest fear is the fall of Faction. How are Bam and Ellis and the others going to do their shows if they are edited? It will be all watered down... Can you imagine just having the audio of Bam's MTV show? It would be horrible. The reason their shows are interesting is because they can talk about whatever they want. I am really worried about my absolute fave channel that my radio is glued to 75% of the time changing.

Question? I kinda mentioned Faction to them, although I don't think they heard me... They were saying that the only real change was to Alt. Nation, and that change was not that drastic... but I would think that Faction would be a major change... is everyone certain about the channles that are being censored... I'm not questioning anyone here, but they seemed to only say that Alt. Nation was "changing"...

All I can tell you is what the CSRs have been telling everyone else:

our partnership with Sprint means some of our music channels will be offering censored music on channels: Faction(28), Alt Nation(21), First Wave(22), and Hot Jamz(50).

That is a prime example of why they are thinking before they respond to our mail / e-mail... That is a really bad thing to have the CSRs say... it is not only saying we are making a change, but it is blaming it on someone else.... I'm hoping that corporate did not approve that statement, it really lacks any sign of care for the sub.

Corporation mentality sucks... I have seen somebody sneeze in a meeting and when someone said "God bless You", they were chastised that they shouldve just said just "bless you" or "gesundheit".. I thought it was a joke, but they were actually serious that someone may have been offended and they didnt want legal or HR coming down on them..

thanks for the update. sirius should change or add a cooler alternative channel. a high percentage of the population like myself want a channel for the fans of grunge rock. this would turn millions of additional fans on to sirius

a channel that plays

alice n chains
mad season
sound garden
pearl jam
nirvana
temple of the dog

and other cool bands

I came over here to read about the new receivers and saw this thread.

I will write a letter in the am.

I currently have 2 XM subs and 1 Sirius sub. I was going to add a Sirius radio in my wifes van, but now that Sirius is going FM, censoring some of my favorite stations, I am going to wait until I hear from management.

If Sirius censors music then I will not add another Sirius radio and I will cancel the 1 sub I have.

I've noticed some of you don't have the Censorship_Off banners in your sig. Come on guys and gals - let them know we mean business!!!

Just copy and paste this into your profile:

(Without the spaces)

Don't worry about your current sig...you can always save it on your computer and put it back later. Hopefully this will be over soon.

And don't forget those other two methods:

JClark@siriusradio.com (NO Dash)

1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474)

Keep those complaints coming!

Actually now you only have to put [cens] [/cens] in your sig, without the space.

Wow, this is a really big problem I see happening. Once one station is censored more and more will come. This is not what I was expecting from sirius ...

Has Sirius Disorder always been censored, I heard lyrics drop out of Garbage's song "Bleed Like Me" just the other day. ?

I agree. I find I barely listen to Alt Nation anymore. They play more and more "crap rock"..that poppy talentless stuff, sorry I don't have a better name for it. I used to be able to listen for hours. Now within minutes I find myself reaching to switch to another channel like LOC before my ears bleed.

I hate to say this, but after signing my father up for XM (for MLB reasons) I took a good listen to Ethel, which I haven't listened to in a year or so. I heard Peal Jam several times, and many other past and current true rock songs. Of course it was still spilling over with their annoying taglines and mindlessly boring DJs. But I hate to say it, the music was better. I feel like a hypocrite telling people the music is better in Sirius all the time.

We simply need another rock channel, you can call it the trendy-talentless-poprock-censored-for-your-cell-phone-weilding 10 year olds channel. Put Alt Nation back to where it was a year or so ago!
