Default SQ discussions

There was a time not so long ago that sound quality was a banned topic - so I guess the fact we can discuss it on this 'discussion board' is progress.

And there have been several suggestions that this topic have its own forum area, but for whatever reasons the board owners won't do it.

Sound quality is a core issue for this type of technology and there are plenty of people who want to openly discuss it, share ideas on impoving it - from the encoding side right down to each listener's vehicle.

The subject pops up often enough that SQ DESERVES ITS OWN FORUM. Please, put us "whiners" in our corner and let those who are offended by it not get dragged into flame wars.

Attention SBS Administrators:

I suggest that ALL threads (current and future) involving complaints about sound quality, be IMMEDIATELY moved to the "Sirius Request Line" forum.

In fact, ALL threads (current and future) involving ANY kind of complaint should be placed in the "Request Line" forum from this day on.

Thank you.

Fine and dandy. Then contact Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. DIRECTLY and let them know your opinion.

However, Sirius Backstage is a PRIVATE entity which has NO affiliation whatsoever with Sirius.

The owners of THIS site can't help you with your problem, and they're not receiving one red cent of your monthly fee.

So if you're going to bitch, it helps if you have enough sense to be bitching to the right people---Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.

I can take anything you dish out, lad.

And no, I won't stay out of it. So there.

For those of you that are not satisfied with Sirius here's an option:
Unsubscribe from the service, sell your equipment on E-Bay and find something that makes you happy.

Are you people for real?

Do you honestly believe that as the #1 privately operated Sirius forum on the internet that no employees of Sirius read through the suggestions, complaints and compliments posted here? Or do you think that they ignore this site, expecting that there's little more to it than your fantasy world of a ho-ho-happy circle-jerk about how thrilled we all are with everything Sirius? Please. Feel free to visit any popular internet forum dedicated to nearly any product, real or virtual, and report back with how many of them don't contain complaints. Welcome to the world of the consumer. At worst, we can vent. At best, the right person may actually drop by and read what we have to say.

And yet again, the love it or leave it attitude here is pitiable.
I *am* happy with the service, mostly. But I prefer to go through life in an attempt to improve upon things that I feel have potential to be better than what they are. Call me crazy. If stagnation is your thing, that's your business.

I agree, and it doesn't matter whether Sirius employees read it or not. Forums are for discussion, and that includes bitching. If you go to the Gaming Age forums, you will see bitching about Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony and whoever. If you go to DVDTalk you'll see bitching about the movie studios. If you go to Star Trek boards you'll get bitching about Rick Berman driving the franchise into the ground. If you go to iPodLounge you'll see bitching about the ROKR phone.

I just don't understand. If you think these topics are retarded, why do you post in them? I don't read or post in the Canada topics because, with all due respect to our northern neighbors, I don't care! If I saw a topic here debating Lindsay Lohan's new emaciated look vs. her voluptuous old look, I'd stay out of it because it's a retarded discussion (unless there are pictures of pre-crack Lohan of course).

But this forum is private, so the powers that be could always opt to moderate these threads out of existence. I simply don't see the harm in letting these threads pop up, plus in my experience users generally react poorly to over-moderation. Personally I like the high level of activity here.

I will personally make sure that you and Renaissance Man get the exact same advice from me every time I read a post containing even the slightest bit of complaint. I haven't been 5-year-old in a long, long time, this is going to be fun

there is no problem with posting a complaint relative to the area of the message board...... the problem comes up when there multiple threads on the EXACT same topic.

You act like a 5-year-old when you continue to whine incessantly about the same problem over and over and over.

5-year-olds and other small children are notorious for constantly whining over things they can't change, just like you.

You wouldn't get the exact same advice every time, if you'd start acting like an adult and stop whimpering about the same problem repeatedly.

Anytime you feel like criticizing one of my posts, you go girl! You better believe it's going to be fun--for me.

Well said, sox. You hit the nail on the head.

The SQ whiners keep posting the same BS over and over and over, like it's something new. It's usually pretty much the same tiny minority of wet blankets who post in those threads.

The overwhelming majority of Sirius subscribers have no problem with the SQ. Sirius knows that, which is precisely why they continue to ignore the whiners.

No...wait it appears the posts counts have frozen. No telling how many you've actually posted in this short time.
Quantity over quality I guess. Just like satellite radio

Nobody forced you to buy SatRadio and nobody's forcing you to keep it, buckwheat.

You seem to have plenty of time on your hands also, O hypocrite, considering so many of your posts are just whining bitchfests about the alleged problems of SatRadio.

Get a life and move on if you're not satisfied with SatRadio.

Then I suppose you have documented evidence that speaks to that end? If so, that's funny, because I'm a subscriber, and Sirius never asked me if I had any problems with their SQ.

Again, total garbage. You call those who don't masturbate furiously to all things Sirius immature 5 year olds, yet you yourself carry an attitude much more comensurate with that age.

Just for fun, here's an analogy:

The majority of those living in the US and who voted in the 2004 election voted for George W Bush. Should the people who voted for him, yet don't agree with all of his policies hop on a boat and leave the country? Following your logic, yes, since they simply must be in the minority given that they've gone and done a silly thing by disagreeing with the person they voted for, and, well, majority rules! And what about those poor folks who didn't vote for him to begin with? I suppose they should have left ages ago, since they'll just be ignored completely, because again, majority rules!

But, nah, I think I'll stay in my country, and continue to fight against the policies of the "majority" when I deem it appropriate. And I think I'll keep my Sirius for now, and continue to demand a more reasonable quality of service from the people who get my hard earned cash.
