Default I love selling people on Sirius

Went to BB today and there was a woman holding a Starmate replay in her hands- there was no sales people around- So I passed her and said "You won't regret it"- and that opened a conversation, I told her that I had Sirius for over 4 years now and love it. She asked what's better Sirius or XM?- I was honest and told her that both are good, but I prefer Sirius- It's a matter of preference and also the identities of the service are different, I asked her what type of music are you into?- She said all kinds- I told her that depending upon your music mood you have many choices etc. By the end of the conversation the sales person came over and thanked me for helping the customer. He also said that he had Sirius and prefer Sirius- She wanted it primarily for the home at first. She was going to get the JVC- But the home kits were sold out- So the Sales rep discounted the Starmate replay along with the $30 rebate she did pretty good.
It's like any sales job- If you have strong conviction on a product or service people see it- Word of mouth is still power

Good Job!

I will do the same thing when I am in BB or CC. I normally cruise by the GPS and Satellite radio displays to see if there is anyone looking.

I too have done the same thing. I've always had trouble with Worst Buy sales reps who irritate you thinking they know more than you do. (I have worked as an A/V tech longer than most of these blue shirts have had a job.) I explained to a couple who was looking into XM, but wanted to listen to the NFL. I convinced them to go with SIRIUS and gave them a demonstration of the Sportster Replay. They were hooked, and the reaction on the "blue shirt's" face was priceless.

This sport is my favorite past time. All the BB and CC guys know me by sight and some are glad to see me and some aren't, lol. I really love going to the car dealerships and hanging with the parts, service and sales mangers. When Sirius_Black and I get into the car, she always wants to know we we are going after Best Buy.

Yes indeed, I don't feel right about going to CC or BB if I don't do this when I go. I always make sure I tell them too if they want it mainly for home use that they may have to put that antenna outside. Most people say.. Oh Yeah it is Sat Radio I guess the antenna has to see the sky. I had one lady say, I don't have to put up one of those big ole dishes do I. I was like no mam, here is the little antenna and showed her the home kit. She was like that little thing gets a signal. LOL

It is always fun to strike up a conversation. I had one dude ask me if I had a card he was going to get his friends to call me.

I have both and people ask me all the time which I prefer and why. If often times boils down to baseball vs football. Other times it comes down to a numbers thing. Even though I outline the musical differences most non-satellite radio students just sorta roll their eyes when I discuss the musical aspects.

I tell them I prefer Sirius but so many people get XM because of GM and Honda that often times the overwhelming representation of XM is hard for others to ignore. I say of all the people who have asked about 40 percent get Sirius and the others get XM. Also St. Louis is a baseball town so its hard from the sports aspects of things.
