Default Activation fee on tuner swap?

Does anyone know if I have to pay the activation fee if I swap tuners? Thanks

There is no activation fee on a receiver swap.

The only time there is an swap fee is if you are a lifetime subscriber (which is $75)

Transfer Fee: If you transfer a lifetime Satellite Radio Service Subscription from one Receiver to another or from one person to another you will be charged a transfer fee. The transfer fee is currently $75.00.

yes, there is supposed to be a fee on the lifetime plan, but if you do it under warranty (even from a place like circuit city) , there is no fee.. I went from stiletto to s2 under CC warranty and didn't get charged or have to use one of the three switches.
Has anyone done it without a fee when not under a warranty?

If you read the fine print, the $75 and the transfer count are waived for warrentee exchange and theft.

I know, that's what I said (without referring to the fine print). Question is...Has anyone done it without a fee when NOT under a warranty?

I was just pointing out that it was not surprising to get a free warrentee exchange but was something supported.

This must have recently changed. I believe they are now charging $15 if you switch receivers ?

I had a Starmate on my motorcycle which I recently sold, so I decided to look for a unit for the car.

I bought a Stiletto two weeks ago, they did not charge me for activation, but I didn't like it and brought it back.

Last week I bought the Sirius One, used it in the car for a week, and they didn't charge me for activation.

I had the Sportster installed in the car this weekend, and they charged me $15 for activation.

It also looks like they removed the activation option from the phone prompts ?

Nick
