Mine's complicated:
Left XM when they lost Liquid Metal.
Got a good deal on a MyFi, so went portable, dropped Sirius.
Decided to dual sub later on.

VinnyM27 will become famous soon enough

If it wasn't for him, I probably would have went for XM or nothing at all since they seem to have all the kinds of musical channels I like (disco, new wave, 80s pop, alt rock, R&B) I like and their talk seems a little more interesting (why isn't there a black channel on Sirius?). XM, for example, has Air America, which is all over AM but doesn't come in well (especially at night...I'm not sure how that works).

Why did you pick Sirius over XM or Dump XM for Sirius?

To quote that old song from 1973 "Different strokes for different folks" (anyone know that one or am I just dating myself...) Anyway, I actually like the idea of satellite being able to play more obscure tracks than FM, even though I agree we all need some degree of familiarity when it comes to the music channels we listen to. With over 100 channels each, it's too bad both XM and Sirius don't offer an equal mix of more popular tunes and deeper tracks among the channels.

I was a Sirius sub for around 18 months, then went to XM to check to see if the grass was greener. It wasn't. 8 months later, I went back to Sirius. The sound quality was better, NFL Radio is great, and the rock channels destroy XM's offerings.

1) Howard 2) Hair Nation

Also it pissed me off hearing commercials on some of XM's music channels. I guess Clear Channel did their job well.

Cancelling XM proved to be the most difficult experience in customer service I have ever had. Fuck them!!

as soon as I heard Howard was going to be on SIRIUS I bought a reciever. I ended up having it over a year before he came on the air. I have since fallen in love with it even though every other person I know is XM crazy.

Default Revolution!

I left XM because Sirius has a much better lineup and they have Revolution Christian Music! Just what I was looking for.

I got Sirius in addition to XM for one reason initially, to support the industry. I was always a hardcore Sirius basher, but finally decided to put my money where my mouth was and subscribe. That combined with the fact that I loved satellite radio and wanted to see the industry as a whole succeed. I didn’t think much of Sirius before I subscribed and didn’t think much of it a few days later, but it started to grow on me. While to this day I listen to XM more, I definitely listen to Sirius quite a bit, and gained a lot of respect for the company. They have a great service, earlier this year I added a second receiver to my Sirius account, and have absolutely no plans to ever drop either service, they both really really fuckin rock!

On Sirius I listen to The Beat, Buzzsaw, Classic Rewind, Hard Attack, Octane, Prime Country, Revolution, Super Shuffle, NFL Radio, Playboy Radio, Raw Dog and Sirius Patriot.
I Am Against The Merger
XM Subscriber as of 8/03, Sirius Subscriber as of 10/04, Music Choice via Time Warner Cable

I subscribe to both Sirius and XM. 2 subscriptions to Sirius and 1 to XM because I got the MyFi at a low price. I like supporting the industry as a whole although the only reason I originally subscribed was to hear Howard!

Favorite channels: Stern 100 & 101, ESPN 120, Playboy 198, RawDog 104 and Strobe 37.

(for comparison XM - High Voltage, Fox Sports, Hockey and baseball channels)
Dave (43yo)in Toronto, Dual-SV1 in car, Sportster with Boombox in Apt, XM-MyFi. Favorites - Howard Stern100, Howard/Bubba/Ferrell on 101, Playboy 198, ESPN 120, Strobe 37, Buzzsaw 19. Baseball on XM.

I actually have both services at this time. 1 Sirius in my car and 2 xm units in the other cars my family uses.

The reason I switched to Sirius was

1) NFL Football

2) Nascar coming in Jan 2007

3) Lineup changes on XM

In my opinion the sound quality of the music is better on XM. The sound quality of traffic is better on Sirius.

Otherwise both services have the same type of channel lineups for the most part.

I actually chose XM over Sirius and never had any regrets. But now I'm going to buy a Sirius receiver and subscribe today. Certainly NOT for Stern! Not for NFL which I can watch on TV. But with the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts starting tomorrow I decided to have both satellite radios. Who knows, maybe I'll end up preferring Sirius. I listened online this morning for a bit and liked what I heard.

Initially I was thinking of going with XM because of the MLB, but when Howard anounced he was going to Sirius, well, I followed.

Default NFL and Celtic Crush

I was a dual sub, then had to make a decision for financial reasons. I really liked both services, but finally went with Sirius for the NFL games, and becuase I love the Celtic Crush.
