The music choices were better suited for me than XM and I like having all the NFL games.

Although the XL comedy channel is far better on XM than Raw Dog. If XM ever gets the NFL contract away from Sirius, I'd seriously consider the switch.

I picked Sirius over XM during a moment of weakness, Sirius signal reception falls between poor and nonexistent which it is at the present time. CS reps well we all know about them.

Default XM Blows

I Currently have both services. But when nascar goes to sirius I will be dumping XM. I use to like listening to O&A but now they are on FM and XM There XM show is too watered down .Howard is much better.Totally uncensored.

I had XM for about 2 years and got tired of the same b-sides that they play over and over. I have had sirius for only about a week now and have heard bands that i never heard on XM and these bands actually have hits. My wife wanted to try satellite radio so i put my xm roady in her SUV. She has had it one day and already says that after the Christmas music(Don't ask) is over she wants me to cancel and she will continue to listen to FM.
In XM's defense, my wife isn't a huge music fan and really likes country music, which both services seem to be lacking in. In our market there is about 4 FM country stations so she is pretty much set with that.

More exclusive talk on sirius was a huge draw for me. Bubba the love sponge, corvino and rich, Jim Breuer, Ferrell, Bower, and of course, Howard.

I purchased my first radio back in 2003. I actually went into Best Buy to purchase an XM set. I really had not heard of Sirius at that point. The salesperson suggested that I look at the lineups of both and make the decision that way. I really glad I did! The selling point for XM was their "techie" channel. But then I saw that Sirius had OutQ, that was the deciding factor for me.

Both XM and Sirius also have limited-time online trials. While not all the channels are streamed online, most are. For some people it's also a good way to compare the two services.

Chose Sirius because I already had experienced the comedy stylings of Opie and Anthony on Testicular Radio and knew Jim Norton was the only thing worth listening to on their show. Already was a Howard fan and wanted to keep hearing his show and I have Directv so I can hear Ron and Fez there.Musically they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but whoever you go with it is worlds better than FM.

Default I Joined for SHADE 45

I joined primarily for the Hiphop channels I had Xm 3 years ago and it was alright then they went to hell after Howard anounced he was coming to SIRIUS I knew I made the right choice. Where else can you get content like this. The All Out Show on Shade 45 is my favorite show and definetly worth the 12.95 a month. I cant wait tell Sirius takes over and buys XM then they will be the real Top Dog.

I am a current XM subscriber and was considering adding Sirius for primarly NFL and I liked the Classic Rewind station in the free preview. However, I decided against it for the following reasons:

1. I wanted the Stilletto and while that looks like a wonderful piece of hardware, it was well outside of my budget.
2. In Toronto, there is only 1 Sirius repeater in the downtown area. I live on the far east end about 20 miles from the repeater. My apartment does not face south so I would be unlikely to get any signal if I couldn't get the repeater. It also appears (from reading around here) that Sirius does not intend to add more in the near future.
3. To add a Sirius subscription it would have cost $14.95 in addition to my XM subscription (since I wanted both). To add another XM costs $6.99.

In the end, I achived my needs by getting a new portable XM radio. While I liked the stuff Sirius had to offer, I would have wanted it as an addition and I could not justify the cost.
