you aint never lied. i was hoping beyong hope that the sq on sirius was better than xm. GOOD GOD WAS I SHOCKED!! sirius sounds like a 96kbs stereo stream and xm sounds like a 56k stream with no highs.
i am keeping xm for sports. but for music i have only been listning to sirius in my truck. i do listen to the boneyard and america on directv still.

Never thought I would see this thread climb up to the, 14,000 read mark..

Good to see sooo many Big Dogs out there who enjoy Sirius over XM and FM.

Great reading.

WSM was a big part of my decision to pick Sirius over XM. No, wait...they're gone now.

Havent switched yet, but will in Jan when my XM sub runs out. Main reason was: Nascar , with the bonus of NFL (well the 49ers wont be playing in Jan!! mabey next year ). Plus, I listen to Sirius Blues on Dish TV and like it better than XM.

Now if I can just get over the problems with the Sirius recievers............... guess I'll hard wire it into my Dodge 2500.

Rock on

WELCOME to Sirius!!!

I too had XM but decided to dump them when they announced NASCAR was no longer part of their channel line-up and Sirius picked them up. Also the fact XM doesn't offer a 80's rock format like Hair Nation.

Seeing more and more of the NASCAR crowed starting to jump ship now... XM missed the boat on this one.

Welcome on board and enjoy the ride...

Hi,

I've been listening to Sirius back since when they were only broadcasting on the web.

Prior to subscribing I compared the recorded samples that XM was offerring on the web back then to what Sirius was broadcasting. The DJs in the recordings were loud and that turned me off XM.

This summer I bought a Buick with XM, I listened to it for a while, subscrcibed for a few months, I still had Sirius in the house. XM does have a larger choice of music. I really liked the folk music on the Village, I really like Top Tracks and the wife and kids who have a less eclectic taste in music liked Flight 26. XM does have more live music and I was turned on to a couple of bands I'd never heard before.

But having said that it never really clicked with me and so I let my subscription run out bought a SIR-GM1 and am listening to Sirius in the car again.

Mike

1. NASCAR beginning in 2007
2. Lifetime subscription
3. Pure Jazz and several other great channels of other genres.

I've been a subscriber since May, 2005, and I'm enjoying the service,
even though a few channels that I really liked (Vacation, Swing Street,
Mexicana) are no longer avaiable.

Thumbs up

I've had XM for 4 years now and just subscribed to Sirius about two weeks ago and already like it better. I really like the music better. My main reason was NASCAR but also for NFL. I just wish the eqiupment was better for Sirius.

1. Better music selection (especially on the Big 80's over XM's 80's)

2. NBA

3. NFL

4. SEC Football
