I chose Sirius because of their location, New York City. I felt that was more the entertainment and music capital of the world. XM was located near Washington. I now feel I made the right decision.

I picked Sirius for Howard. In fact, I wasn't even all that aware of satellite radio in general until Howard made his announcement. It was a no-brainer for me. But now, having read a lot about XM on these boards (I still have never done the free trial for XM) it would seem I made the right choice in terms of music as well.

Howard was a significant deciding factor.

I'm a Universiy of Florida fan so being able to hear the games when I'm not near a TV was a huge plus.

I was almost swayed to XM for NASCAR but soon after getting Sirius, Sirius nabbed the contract to start airing the races in '06 so that made an already sweet decision even sweeter

I figured the music was a wash as they appeared (on the surface anyway) to be so similar. But after reading here, I have the impression that Sirius also has the edge there too!

So the short version is, Sirius just has better programming!

My Top 5 Sirius Presets:
1. Howard 100
2. UndergroundGarage
3. Chill
4. First Wave
5. Area 33

I got Sirius over XM because:

1) 2 friends of mine told me the music channels on XM were horrible.
2) Nascar in '07
3) NBA
4) NHL (I will miss it when it leaves in '07, but I'm not that upset)

Howard Stern initially, but now that I have SIRIUS, I can't imagine listening to FM ever again.

Lets get started..
I got SIRIUS because of the music they play which 99.99% of the time, i know the band that plays that song, aswell as the variety of sports they have on sirius like nfl, nba, college football, etc...SIRIUS is just AWESOME and satisfies me in everyway

The rock music mainly. A couple of people at Xmfan made the decision easy for me with there negative attitude toward 80's type rock. Not everyone over there ,just a couple of people. The pd for the boneyard seems to toy with people and that really pissed me off! 80-Listener came first , and everytime I read his post it was like he was at party or something so I had to get me a Sirius radio and see what is was all about. Now way over a month and wow!!

I listen mostly to music on Sirius. I prefer classic rock. And Sirius beats XM hands down for classic rock.

I picked Sirius because it was commercial free music, and XM wasn't. That was back in 2003

Now I have both, and can't get into XM's music programming so I rarely listen.

I live in Connecticut but grew up in Pennsylvania. My house is unable to have DirecTV since I have a lot of trees so it gives me an opportunity to listen to the Eagles when they aren't on tv.

And Howard coming in January was a huge plus. When they were giving free tuners last year, that sealed the deal for me!
