I doubt that will be happening. In 2 years with XM, my only gripe with them has been over the removal of Sporting News Radio.

See, I'm a realist. I understand what satellite radio is capable of. I know what to expect from Sirius and what I shouldn't expect from Sirius.

Perfection is hard to get.

Default Sound Quality!!!

Has anyone realized how horrible XM's sound quality is?? Ethel is good though. They have more variety than Alt-Nation. Sirius needs to get with that. Add more songs to Alt-Nation Sirius!!!

I heard it first love the all unedited hip-hop stations. Xm edits a majority of there rap channels and fuck paying 12 dollars for edited music. Thats why I don't shop at Walmart for cd's anymore.

Sirius has the perfect blend of new music and also songs/artists you can recognize. Sirius rocks.
Would that mean Sirius only plays the popular songs you'd normally just hear over and over on regular FM radio and has no diversity from the main stream???

Don't you think it's nice a radio company plays main stream music yet also mixes it up with songs and bands you haven't heard of before?? That's diversity in your playlists and essentially offering more to your listening public. You never know, there could be cool songs from those un-heard of bands. Just because you've never heard of them before, doesn't automatically mean there music sucks.

I have XM on my Directv and love Squizz on it. They play main stream popular band music and throw in some un-knowns, nothing wrong with that. Doesn't it get boring listening to the same ol bands over and over just because their well known with no diversity of hearing some music from other people???

To me that's Sirius having a limited play list and only playing the popular songs you can just as equally hear on FM radio, only difference is no commericals right??

Just asking!

Yep. I listen mostly to hip-hop and remember listening to the hip hop channel on one of these satellite providers. They played the same 47 songs to death and in between songs they had 5 minute conversations between the d.j.s.

Sheesh!.

I think that's one thing I do like about XM, you get to hear music outside the main stream. It's more than just music that you can find on any music channel on tv, like MTV, or any local FM radio station.

I'm still going with Sirius though, hope I don't regret it.

No, by all means thats great, and I did like that about them for the month I had them, at least for a few days. The thing is the majority of it is b sides or unknowns. Some of it very obscure, such as music released on a indy lable 8 years ago long out of print obscure. Even then it repeated often. If you are going to repeat, at least do it on songs that are proven, or at the very least you can actually go to a store and buy.

I picked Sirius because of Stern and Mojo Nixon (Outlaw Country and Lying Cocksuckers). I have had the service just over a year (12-2005) and can honestly say that the only time I have not listened is when my car is in the shop or when I have a rental. I have 1 in the car and 1 in a boom box in my home office. One or the other is on at all times.

I have had Sirius for a year now. We picked it over XM mostly to listen to Howard Stern. Really have enjoyed the music. In November purchased a GM with XM built in. After three months I am hard pressed to pick an overall favorite. For now I'm keeping both services. I like having the radio incorporated into th ehead unit and thus far there is no module for 2007 GM conversion to Sirius so XM stays in the new truck. Have Sirius Sportster replays in our other two cars.

Differences between XM and Sirius?

Sirius- Howard Stern, better rock music selections

XM: less familiar rock songs, less talk between songs, much better classical and classical pops stations

As a fan of both rock and classical, its a toss-up. Dont even listen to Howard that much anymore. I wouldnt bail totally to XM- but having both services is nice.

My friend let me log into his online account to listen to the stations and I liked the selection and depth of the playlists on most stations. Plus I've been a Howard fan for a while

When Howard went to Sirius I was up in the air about going there or XM since I had been a listener of O&A since they were here on WAAF in Massachusetts. I was listening to an XM stream I "found" and really like O&A's format and seemingly more energetic broadcast. Then they went to FM and the show has started to slowly go downhill because now they're censored for the first 3hrs and seemingly appear to "phone in" the shows lately. Basically complaining about the FM way of things like Howard did before he finally left.

So as of this weekend I bought a Sirius receiver for my Pioneer deck in my car because of the better music selections and for Howard's FULLY uncensored shows.

all Howard's shows, great music, and now NASCAR! The only problem is I don't have enough time to listen to everything!
I've got four radios and one of them on my Motorcycle

I went to Sirius for the same reason I got XM...NASCAR.
I found the programming is better for my taste on Sirius.
Cannot stand that "Howard" guy though.

Hey guys and gals, this is my first post in the forum. I had XM for awhile but discontinued service with them awhile back. I just lost interest in them. The only real draw for me to XM was MLB Homeplate which is their 24/7 baseball channel.

Well, as of today, Valentine's Day, I'm now officially a Sirius subscriber for the very first time! I subscribe to Sirius Internet Radio. It mainly appeals to me because the audio quality is better, I dont have to buy any equipment, and also I live in Illinois so it would be very hard to get a signal I hear since I would have to face the antenna straight up and I live in an apartment complex. Anyways, I dont have to mess around with that, so I got the Internet Radio. I am also a big classic rock fan and I heard Sirius has XM beat in that category. Also, Howard Stern was a draw for me.

I have a question for you guys. Since I subscribe to Sirius Internet Radio. Am I still considered part of the Sirius Subscription count or is the Internet Radio a totally different demographic. I was just curious. Thanks, and it is nice to meet you all!!
