We picked Sirius because it has the Elvis channel.

He's funded by the NAB. He was outed on orbitcast a while ago.

I'll chime in here...

Originally got XM late 2001. Loved it. Progressively, the music got more and more obscure and with more and more channels came more and more compression. sound quality suffered across the board, but I stuck with them when O&A got on board. They got suspended, so I gave Sirius a chance.

Way better sound quality and great playlists compared to XM or FM. I'm going to stick with Sirius and find alternate ways to get O&A. Sirius is the goods.

NFL NBA NCAA Final 4 and March Madness, plus they have Michigan and USC football. Howard Stern and the music is mainly unedited.

Its funny that you say that about the music, most people on the XM boards are constantly talking about the depth of their playlists and how it is so much better than Sirius. A friend of mine listens to XM through Direct TV, I don't know half of the friggin songs they play. Like you said, their playlists are way to obscure for me, although I have heard Flight 26 at the airport and enjoyed it.

patroldawg welcom to Sirius glad you like it. I used to have 1 sub at XM for MLB, but decided that it wasn't worth it I get annoyed that they only have one unedited rap station. It is a dumb reason, but if I pay money for radio I enjoy unedited music. I like hhits1, but am glad Sirius doesn't shove the family safe thing down yur throat.

Why did you pick Sirius over XM or Dump XM for Sirius?

I just purchased a Stiletto and have had XM for a couple years. I mainly wanted Sirius before the NFL season. I do like O&A, Ron & Fez but I'm not sure if I will keep XM. I'm thinking probably not.

Have XM (for R&F, MLF and Casey Casem) and am thinking of getting Sirius for the following reasons

Stern: I happened across a couple of his shows on Sirius and he sounds more like the Stern of old (before his anto-FCC talk) than what he was the last couple of years on FM. O&A (to me) reached and passed their prime/peak and to me are no longer listenible. Although from what I read here today (Stern's marital counseling) I am a bit suspicious if the quality is there every day.

NFL/NBA: While at first I could not fathom listening to play-by-play of these sports as much as baseball, but NBA and NFL talk is a different story. I will likely enjoy it a lot as the fall approaches and training camp starts.

I will likely get a low-end radio at first to see how it works out. That way i don't have over $100 invested in hardware if it does not pan out for me.

Mlb is pretty much the only reason to have Xm.

Not true. Squizz, Ethel, Lucy, Deep Tracks, Highway 16 and Watercolors are all excellent channels in my book.

Not to mention that XM is currently sweeping up all of college sports. MLB was a huge reason why I added XM but I keep it for a lot more things now that I have it.
