What is interesting in reading the last half of this thread is that most people say they came to Sirius for Stern and sports. For those of us who could care less about either of those (AKA focused primarily on music), there is no clear winner between XM and Sirius.

I have been a Sirius sub for a year and a half, and I have noticed a significant decline in one of my favorite channels (AltNation). I blame Lithium for this decline, as Alt now refuses to play any 90s alternative, which has made their playlists incredibly shallow.

I just bot a Honda, and have been giving XM a try. While it is good, I find the set lists on Ethel to be a bit too deep for my tastes. I can usually find something else on another channel, but surfing isn't something I want to do a lot of. But it has made me rethink my Sirius subscription.

I don't want to be a dual sub, so I am hoping that the merger will allow me to move to XM while still being able to bring over some of my favorite channels from Sirius, and thus have the best of both worlds.

I added Sirius to my XM because:

1. The SL2.
2. NFL
3. The Bridge.
4. The feeling that I was missing not having it all.

Originally because of Howard. Since then I've found all kinds of stuff I love.

I have both services.

Sirius is better in the music departement
Sirius has howard
XM I love their original shows like Bob Dylans theme time radio hour,
Xm's Artis Confidential is awsome
XMX is a great station to hear XM's original shows
Sirius all their station are at the same volume never have to turn up the volume when you change stations
Sirius dj's are better then the ones on xm
Sirius has the NFL + Nascar + NBA
Xm Has MLB + NHL
Sirius Has the original MTV VJ's (witch I love to listen to)

So there is good things on both services and that is why I have both

Subscribed to Sirius about a year ago for the sports (mainly NASCAR) and just for the fact I was tired of am/fm.

Just bought a new Saturn Outlook and it comes with XM so I'm giving that a try right now. Music wise the only thing I miss is E-Street, otherwise it's not that big a difference to me. Right now XM sports is better for me personaly because I can listen to Big 10 basketball and the NHL and MLB will be starting up in another 6 weeks.

Hopefully all the merger stuff gets worked out, I'm not sure which way I'll go at the end of my trial period.

I ended up getting a receiver for both XM and Sirius for Christmas. Couple of my best friends did not communicate. lol

I ended up going with Sirius for the following reasons -

1. My friend let me piggyback onto his account, so it's cheaper for me, and so I don't have to pay the activation fee.

2. I've listened to Sirius many times in my friend's car and loved it. I've never listened to XM before, so I don't know what to expect. Sirius was the safer route.

3. One word.....Howard.....

4. I'm a HUGE NFL fan....
