Default Leaving Sirius (get your money back), Do it at Channel Updat

Riding shotgun on a drip to Harrisburgh yesterday I was opening my mail and came across a new Sirius channel lineup and their "rules" booklet.

Thinking back, there was some confsion on why some people get their money back when they leave Sirius while others do not.

Reading the book, it seems that when you join Sirius you "sign" an "contract". This agreement is for the current channel lineup. However if sirius changes the lineup, you have something 48 hours where you can opt out of the new "contract" and get your money back. This is because Sirius is changing the lineup (updating) and you do not have to agree to it. If you don't do it, then you "sign" for another "contract."

So that, for anyone who is unhappy and wants their money back, sometime when the next channel lineup occurs in the next month would be the best time to do so and get your money back.

What do you mean you got something in the mail with the new lineup? Are you talking about the 9-29 changes?

I can't imagine not having SIRIUS. No way I would ever settle for local FM again. There is nothing in the channel line up they can change that would force me to go back. I also have XM and I feel the same about it. I have a leaning towards SIRIUS, I always have, but I'd never drop my XM either.

I've had xm for 2 1/2 years and got Sirius a month ago for college basketball and Howard. Was gonna deactivate Sirius after basketball season but have sense wised up and am gonna keep it. I still have both but rarely turn xm on and as far as testical radio is concerned only turn it on the weather band to get local weather. I may deactivate xm at some point but do enjoy NASCAR so.... besides I drive a truck and spend about 70 hours a week listening. It only costs .86 cents a day for both.
One thing though with xm, you can sign up for a year or more and if at anytime you want to cancel they will refund the unused part of your subscription with no penalty....also I de-activated one of my xm radio's a few months back and they tried to get me to reactivate for $4.99 amonth!
