Just a simple question, how did you not know? I mean, XM and Sirius have been out for over 4 years now, I am wondering about those who waited so long, did you not hear about it at all? No disrespect intended, just curious as to why those who didnt get it earlier, waited so long.

Since the nationwide launch!
I had Xm before and hated it ,since I thought maybe just maybe Sirius changed its name before it was out there.I know better now and prefer sirius.I listen all day at work and when I get home.

Early October 2002 at which time I was a member of the old now defunct forum that had both XM and SIRIUS forums on it. There was always a constant battle going.

I registered on the SBS in early Jan 2003 upon an invatation by TulaneJeff as I was not even aware at the time that SBS existed.

I initially got XM, but brought it back, cancelled my Sub and got SIRIUS, mainly because SIRIUS was commercial free and XM was not, but also because XM's equipment was so freaking expensive. About 4 months later I got turned onto a friends and family deal and signed up for XM again. I've been with both services ever since.

SIRIUS: 3.5 years (3 subs)
XM: 3.1 years (2 subs)

I've been aware of Sirius and XM since they launched their services but didn't pay much attention since there was nothing in their content offerings that I thought would be worth the cost for me (not to mention the big, bulky, and expensive hardware). Then Howard made his announcement and for me, that gave satellite radio it's Killer App. Three weeks later I got hooked up and couldn't have been happier!

July 05

I waited for 2 reasons. I didnt have the money for the radio, and subscription. Also, at the time I had a radio station on FM that filled my needs. It since has been done away with.

Default March 2002

I ordered my Jensen SSR2000 from Crutchfield on March 21, 2002 and had to tell the Sirius rep that I was from Houston (one of the roll out cities) when I called to activate the unit. That unit and antenna ran me just over $300. I still have it boxed up in a closet. Figure some day I can get it put into a museum or something.

October 2005

Bought a month subscription just to try it out, heard the All Out Show on Shade 45 and immediately upgraded to a lifetime subscription.
