Break, yes.

How about playing these old tapes he has now?

Couldn't Sirius theoretically get in trouble for running those ads, simply because they are a national service? I know for a fact in states with pornography laws, DirecTV has to block the channels from people's recievers.

The DJ's are one of the reasons that I became a dual subscriber. I like listening to satellite RADIO, not "Ipod somewhere in outer space". I like the personality they add. That's half the reason I don't listen to XM's music channels as much. They only have DJ's like for about 2 hours a day.

Does everything have to be immediate? Jesus it's been what, 2 weeks. And about the DJs, IMO they are VERY important. They add life to the station. If you don't want them, get an S50 and love all your songs. No more DJs.

Well, they could always do what the "The Wiseguy Show" and MAXIM Radio used to do by playing music as opposed to commercials during the breaks. Either that or wear Depends and have liquid food pumped into their veins by Intravenous means over a five to six hour time period.

I would not pay $7.00 more a month for better sound. I have no issues with the sound quality on sirius.

IF Howard went commercial free. I'm sick of hearing about these half-legal online casinos and dick pills who seem to be the only ones buying ad time on his show.

It does seem that casinos are the only real advertisements.

I agree and that is the only thing on Sirius that I am sick of. I reaklly wish they would find better advertising instead of trying to get people hooked onto these scam sites that take your money

No. What I meant was INSTEAD of commercials, play the old tapes in their place... That's my idea for commercial free Howard Stern, seeing as he does need breaks in his shift.

I am happy with the current price and the current sound quality. I think sirius is great just the way it is, and am not willing to pay extra for better sound quality. I know a cd sounds better, but I didn't buy sirius for sound quality, rather, I bought it for variety.

I don't know what the max price I would pay is.
I do know this - I've been in friend's cars that are still on terrestrial and I can't stand it - I could never go back to terrestrial radio.
I have a Creative Nomad 30gb MP3 player. I love it but you're limited to the music you have.

So, I'm a life-time satellite listener, probably no matter what the cost (within reason, of course).

So you run a 2 minute spot of an old tape? Whats anyone gonna get out of that. I'd rather them sell time and make some $$$ and I'll change the channel for 2 mins.

I agree that I would not pay $20 a month. HOWEVER! Something happened last week to the sound quality on the talk and sports channels. The major "tinny and swirly" sound is back. NFL radio shows sound HORRID. Something happened as it did not used to be this bad. The music ones, to me, sound fine, not cd quality great, but very tolerable. But the talk and sports shows were definately changed and have the sound of a low quality internet audio clip. What happened and did anyone else notice this change about a week or two ago?

No way! You think the sports talk shows sound good too? There is DEFINATELY something wrong with NFL, ESPN air America. NFL is horrendous all of the sudden. I mean I can hardly stand the sound of it its so tinny and digital crappy sounding. Absolutely aweful I am telling you.

I know I won't be missed if they raise the rate above $20 and I leave.
I wouldn't mind $20 a month provided I could have 4 radios for $20 a month. I hate having to move the receiver from the car to the house, from the house to the boombox and back again. They need to come up with a better plan for multiple family receivers. Right now I have four XM and two Sirius. If Sirius raises the price, one will get cut. I am going to cut one of the XM receivers now and if they raise the price, that will get cut by one receiver also.

I agree 100% something did happen. I usually listen to the comedy channel, but for the last week or so, it has been horrendous. The sound is just as you describe, "tinny".

Are you using a Starbase?
