Default Channel Update 09/26/06

I got in my car tonight to go to work and my unit did a channel update. Unfortunately, I have the ST2 and it also killed all my presets, so I spent my commute trying to reprogram my unit and have no idea what the update was.

Anyone know?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Well, I just got the update at about 1:55 here on the West Coast and I'm not sure what to think. I'm still hearing BBC Mundo on CNN en Espanol, and the same with the others.

More importantly, I still haven't received the new Canadian channels, I have an older PNP2, but still I figured that I'd be able to get those.

anyone else get the update?

Update here at about 4:51 EDT. Nascar added for sure, no Canadian channels yet.

S50 has no new tags at this time.

SIR - PNP3

Got the update… no new Canadian channels as of yet!!!

Wondering what the story is? Thought this was definitely happening for everyone.

I wasn't told this from my usual Sirius sources, but I did read it on blogs and I think here that it was supposed to.

I've also been told in the past that it was the very old receivers which were why we didn't get them.

Apparently somethings weird either way. Usually the S50 updated tags are available when they do a channel rehash, but not the case this time around.

Well from sirius.com http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...=1158082411510 are the details on the update and I would think if older receivers couldn't get the channels it would be mentioned as a disclaimer, which it is not.

So I think we were supposed to get them. It does kind of erk me (a little bit) that I'm paying the same amount as others who do get them already.

I just went over there to look and then came back here since I saw they were mentioned there.

That is very interesting that they weren't part of the usual 5AM bundle. The Vegas Traffic channel is added along with the Nascar channel though.

Very odd. I guess maybe they ran into a snag. Re-sending my activation via My Account didn't change things either.

Thumbs down

No Canadian channels on either my S50 or older Brix Streamer. If I don't get these channels I'm complaining to SIRIUS. I was kinda of looking forward to the new Canadian channels.

I could give a crap about the 'appease Quebec' channels. But I want my Hardcore Sports Radio.

I am not surprised Sirius didn't put in any disclaimer. Call or email customer service and you will be lied to and given all kinds of misinformation, why should the web site be any different.

The S50 is upgradable by software, etc. That one isn't updated either for the Canadian channels. I'd say sometihng got screwed up along the way.

I thought it was just me. I wasn't really going to make a fuss about it though, since there was not too much among the Canadian only channels that really interested me...

I also noticed that "The Globe" is not just called "SIRIUS". It is still Rolling Stones Radio.

There were some other minor channel name changes (i.e. Coffee House is now "The Coffee House"), and the Jazz and Classical categories are not merged. Also, they split the Entertainment and Family categories...with I guess Entertainment having the potential for more adult content.
