Default So when do the christmas tunes start

Yeah this is early, but did Sirius do a good job last year with christmas channels? Anybody recall when they started, how many channels, etc. I got mine for christmas last year so I missed out...

I wasn't overly thrilled with their Christmas music last year... but then I'm really particular, especially with Christmas music.. one 'grandma got run over by a reindeer' per year is plenty for me..

I still wonder how they fit that song into an hour-long show.

The past 2 years the music has started on Thanksgiving.

In 2004 it was on Movin' Easy and last year it was on Starlite. In the past it has been highly repetitive, hopefully it won't be this year.

Here is some info from last year (2005):

"Sirius Satellite Radio will celebrate the holiday season with special Thanksgiving and Christmas music programming starting on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th.

Continuous Christmas music will be broadcast on two SIRIUS channels through Christmas Day, December 25: StarLite (ch 2) will play traditional and contemporary Christmas holiday music, and The Roadhouse (ch 62) will feature holiday country music."

Which is when it should start and not any sooner.

I almost went postal when I saw Christmas decorations in the department stores in late September...that is just ridiculous!!

Christmas is cool, but the blatant commercialization of the holiday is asinine.

It starts to soon. A columbus, ohio station has christmas music streaming on their website since late September. Yet, another reason not to support terristorial radio.

My Sister-in-law has her Christmas lights professionally installed, so that nornally happen early in October. We visited her on Holloween...and they were ON!

I made my kids sing carols when she answered the door, instead of yelling "Trick-or-treat"

What SISO said...they do some work with a company that (on the side) does Christmas light installations. They store the lights for you all year, come install them, then come back after the holidays to take them down and return them to storage. This company owns a lot of the equipment for getting to the roof for their primary business, and winter is a slow time of the year for them. By doing this work, they can keep more of their staff on year-round, and get more use of their capital equipment.

Sorry for taking this thread off-topic. But I know it's one of Evil Ernie's favorites!
