XM does seem to have more top 40 channels(although about half have commercials) Both have pretty much no clue on country, but if your going to miss the mark I couldn't pick a better category.
Sirius Blues plays way more modern and rock based blues, Bluesville gets more into the history of blues, but they never seem to play SRV, Clapton, or even Alman Brothers! Sports are better on Sirius, they have SEC! enough said.
And the big one, Stern over O&A!

XM is WAY better than FM, but in the satillite world, its sirius by a mile.
Yeah Hair Nation kicks the boneyards ASS. This too was the reason why I switched from XM to Sirius. I also switched because of Nascar moving to Sirius... Huge mistake by Xm.. Oh well, Sirius has it together man!!!

Glad to DUMP XM for Sirius. Seeing more and more people doing the same..

ROCKS

Welcome to all the new Sirius listeners!

I know two people with XM that are planning on making the switch also.

I have been a XM subscriber since Feb. of 2000. With the switch of Nascar to Sirius in 07 I thought I would avoid the rush after the Homestead race and do it now. So for the next 3 weeks I will be a duel subsciber. I am paid up with XM until the end of July of 07. At least I'll get some cash back to pay for Sirius. Just a quick note, I find the selection on Sirius much better then XM. But I have noticed that, as on XM, the compression on the C Jazz channel is a lot less then some other channels. Sounds great in the car, alot of deep bass extension. This is my first trip here. I shall return.

The rock stations were the primary reason I signed up after signing up for the three day online trial back in Sep 05. After that I discovered the college football broadcasts for my home conference (Big XII - Nebraska). Then I became a Howard Stern fan after he came to Sirius in January. I already had XM when I signed up and still do, but don't listen to it much anymore.

XM launched in the fall of 2001.

The only downside to Sirius is that we are losing hockey to XM next season.

You are correct, but why nitpick...

I avoided that rush in June of 2005. I think you're going to like the coverage of NASCAR on Sirius. I've had XM since 7/02, and I like Sirius Sports Programming better then XM's...

I checked my records and it was Feb. of 2002 that I started with XM. I guess it just seems longer.

Well after having Sirius for a bit I am still sold on it being better. I still can't explain why I like the music groupings better but I do. I have come off of the Comedy stations and talk stations and goine back to listening to the music a lot more than I did on XM.
I have found I get no dropouts on Sirius like I did in a whole 2 places with XM. Not huge as I live in Orange County, CA so the terestrials seem to be all over the place.

One of my motivations was NASCAR in 07, I don't watch or listen but my stepdad does when we go places so it was a little motivation.
The only thing I really miss on XM is the Canadian standup channel. I loved the North of the Border sense of humor.

Glad I made the switch.
