A general hello to the board. I just got Sirius On Tuesday but talk about being hooked. I had XM and while a good product, I like the channels on Sirius better. I like the music selections better, not sure what is exactly different but this is better.

Glad I made the switch and hope that I contribute well.

I made the switch a couple weeks ago after 2 years at XM and for what its worth here is what i can tell so far, Hair Nation is far better than boneyard, First Nation is incredibably(sp?) better than Fred as the same for Alt nation being better than Lucy. XM does seem to have more top 40 channels(although about half have commercials) Both have pretty much no clue on country, but if your going to miss the mark I couldn't pick a better category.
Sirius Blues plays way more modern and rock based blues, Bluesville gets more into the history of blues, but they never seem to play SRV, Clapton, or even Alman Brothers! Sports are better on Sirius, they have SEC! enough said.
And the big one, Stern over O&A!

XM is WAY better than FM, but in the satillite world, its sirius by a mile.

for whats its worth i am an xm subscriber two weeks ago i would have never even thought of being here. but the two day trial showed me there were a bunch of myths out there. 1 being sirius repeats like fm. it doesnt. and the rock stations here are WAYYYYYY better than the ones on xm. the only xm rock station i still listen to is the boneyard. which is deeper than buzzsaw or hair nation. honestly if it wasnt for georgia tech being on xm and for mlb i would probably cancel. plus the sq on sirius imo is dang near cd quality. at least at really loud voulmes anyway ps how do you put icons in these here posts??? like devil horns and the little doggie...

I think you actually mean 1st Wave, and I agree it is a great station. My only complaint about it is that it does play a little too much of U2 and The Cure, but if you really like that alternative stuff, you'll enjoy it Sunday night when they do Dark Wave.
As for XM's music stations having commercials, you can thank Clear Channel for that.
In any event to all the newcomers here, welcome to SBS and to SIRIUS. You'll enjoy it here. Been a member since 4/04 and am loving every minute of it.

johnnyfever78, bear_s75 and Auxcoastie, I'm glad all of you have joined us on this side of the fence. There are many dual subscribers and converts here and it's nice to see you join our small but always growing community. SIRIUS Backstage and its members have helped me and a lot of others when info is required in tough situations and I'm sure you'll have the same experience as well if it is required.

Once Again Welcome,

-Ryan

Go to User CP (the left side of the black bar near the top of the forum), then Edit Options, go all the way to the bottom to the Message Editor Interface, select Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.

You should be good to go.
