Default Online Stream Through Home Stereo?

Do any of you run the online stream through your home stereo from your computer? With the availability of the new premium online service, I'm thinking this may be a better option than hauling my Starmate back and forth between the house and car. Plus, the SQ may should be better.

If anyone is currently doing this, how is the sound quality? I've always been dissapointed with the SQ, even using an AUX adapter in the car.

Thanks.

Yes I have a 4 way setup. I can listen to my Stiletto, Inno, iPod or Computer through my Home Theater System with just the push of a button. The 128kb SIR premium streaming sounds GREAT. Now I am just awaiting the day they make this available via the Stiletto's wifi.

Is this actually going to happen, or are you just wishing? I thought the 128k upgrade was specifically for the Stiletto's wi-fi.

Do I know if it is going to happen without a doubt, no I can't say I do. Do I know that I've been told by folks in the know that it is being worked on, Yes I Do.

But I am indeed also wishing and hoping that it is sooner rather than later. But I also know that SIRIUS is a huge corporate bureaucracy and they would need to sign off on any changes of this nature, so they will drag their feet like they always do.

Close enough that most can't tell the difference! If you can, well you just aren't as blessed as those of us that can't and will be able to enjoy the 128kb without issue.

I'm too lazy to connect my laptop to the stereo and the desktop is in the home office, so I have a media player (Netgear MP101) connected and I stream Sirius and/or XM to the player. Can say that the 128k stream of Sirius sounds better than the 64k of XM. Both sound much better when I bring the units in from the car and stick them in their home docks. Too many choices!

I used to have my Sportster and my Airware hooked to my computer. Now I use Premium streaming instead of the Sportster saving me $4 a month.

In our new house I had some wiring done, Home Theater, 2nd and 3rd zones with speakers. The guy that was doing the install, installed a wall jack in the office where I can hook my computer in to my receiver and play Sirius, Internet Radio and my MP3's through my system and throughout the house.

I had them run a 50 foot antenna extension from the area where my system is to the roof for a antenna but I am not sure that I will need that now that I have Premium streaming, but it is nice to have it.

I love the way my system sounds through my computer speaker system, better than my car!

If you've not yet considered satellite television, the audio feeds from Sirius on DiSH Network are much higher quality than even the Sirius "128k" online feed is. Plus there are 50 other Muzak-produced audio channels. Most DiSH subscribers can get a free second receiver (one box with two tuners in it).

I use the second receiver to feed an FM transmitter to get Sirius all over the house.

I would gladly suscribe to On-Line only for the Sirius channels, however, the one thing that bothers me is you can only get Howard Stern at 49Kbs or 55Kbs. nothing higher. i am very picky when it comes to certain things like that.

Does anyone know if there has been any talk of improving the quality of the talk shows for Streaming?
