Post New Channels??

I remember hearing a while back that the new radios will be able to get more channels. Like a 30% more. I know they get the canadian ones because I have the new sporster. But whats the deal with sirius adding more channels? Is this still in the works? Does anyone know when and if this is going to happen? They need to beat XM because XM has 170.

Thanks

Rob

It's still in the works, I think they said it would be ready Spring 07. Of course, it was supposed to be Spring this year. Alot of this will go to Video, so don't expect a lot of new channels.

saying it & doing it two different things -- my bet is they won't have it ready until the the new sat. is up/running.

Well I'm afraid Flagriot got a good point there. The new satellite being geostationary will help prevent pixelization in the video in a way that is probably hard to do now with satellites moving in and out of range as audio drop-outs demonstrate every day.

The video would be awesome if they used it to broadcast games. Football, hockey, nascar. They would be awesome. Other than that video would be useless

They've said it's only going to broadcast a handful of kids channels.

The amount of channels shouldn't be the decision-maker when deciding what service to subscribe to. It's the channel content that should make the difference. What good is having more channels if they are no good?

Sirius has a lot of channels but I only ever listen to about 5. So the others are of no use anyways

Simply put, the difference in channel numbers shouldn't be the difference in beating XM. Comes down to content on the channels.
