Default 1-877-33-SIRIUS Tip: Your Request will be filled when...

the next DJ comes on air. I just found this out, before I left I requested Gnarls Barkley - Crazy so that I could finally record it on the Stiletto. It was requested at 9:43am... when Kim Ashley was on. It didn't play until 12:04pm... when Jim Ryan was on. (The Pulse) So just a tip that if you request a song, the next DJ scheduled to air will probably play it instead of the DJ that is on now.

(Okay this is my first post, but I have been reading Backstage for a couple of years now.)

I'm not certain how Sirius takes care of requests, but I would bet it's similar to terrestrial radio. In case you don't know if you call a radio station your requets may be recorded or just jotted down. Then later when that song comes up in the play list your voice is played requesting the song or the dj announces your request. To everyone else listening it sounds like they are playing your requests, but only you and the dj know you requested that, hours ago. That's if you request a song that they play and not something too obscure.

My guess...your song came up in rotation and your voice was inserted. The dj usually can't add in songs, that's the job of the music director. Again Sirius may handle this differently.

I have had request played a few days later and just happen to have the channel on when I heard my voice on the air. That was on new country 60.
