The truth of the matter is if Sirius had spent the $700 million they have wasted on the smut of Howard Stern, they could have taken this $700 million and developed many new advances in codecs to provide better sound.
i get your sentiment but unfortunately siri is stuck with the codec as there is no real chance of transitioning to something different. how would they deal with all the legacy receivers (including oem installs)?

theyre stuck was pac which was a pretty huge bungle i dont see how even $700M would fix it.

Agree w/other guy though, w/o stern they were doa, at least now theyre on life support.

I am firmly against the money that was wasted on Howard Stern. He is nothing but smut and vile pornogrpahy and is about as vile and disgusting as you can get.

I ask you: Would you put garbage in your stomach? Then, why put it in your head with Howard Stern?

Think about it.
Please do us a favor and crawl back into your hole.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that wharrell doesn't like Howard Stern.

I also think there's a pretty good chance he's either an Evangelist or a Muslim.

LOL! I don't care for Stern, and I'm neither Evangelical nor Muslim. I just don't like shock jocks, and never have, since long before Stern ever drew a crowd.

I do have a simple fix for it though, I just don't listen to him. Problem solved. That only leaves a hundred and some odd other channels to listen to...

The fact is they can make the SQ fairly decent. They've demonstrated that numerous times. Of course they always seem to end up screwing it up sooner or later. For example, last week the SQ was horrible. The past two days have been phenominal. And today, we're back to the status quo with the narrower stereo separation.

Sirius has always screwed with their SQ since it's inception. The very second they tweak it to where the stereo separation is pronounced and the highs are clear, they botch it again. It's like their engineers are obsessed with screwing with it. Considering that their engineering staff is probably very middle-age and located in noisy NYC, it would not surprise me if they suffer from some form hearing loss.
