Thumbs down Here we go again SQ downfalls

Ok so Sirius tweaked a few streams for better Sound quality after the channel updates, but guess what the decades took a hit in the sound quality department.Well ok ,so just listen to different channels?right?WRONG!
Two days ago ALL the channels are now where the decades are in the sound quality department (very muddy ,no highs) .What in gods name is Sirius doing?
Adding more channels or testing the stupid video again?
Leave the dam sound quality alone! We dont need either.
My FM sounds ALOT better now.Great....
Anyone else notice the hit?

No difference here, but the Wi-Fi on the Stiletto is now unlistenable to me. (And I'm not an audiophile)

I'm not really noticing that much of a difference.

Here we go again.... This is one of those topics that no one ever agrees. I also don't find the SQ on the Wifi via the Stiletto bad either, certainly don't consider it unlistenable, I would be thrilled though if they eventually allow us to stream on the Stiletto at 128kb.

NO, THE PROBLEM IS that this whole thread is ASSUMED the truth when there is NO RELEASE SROM SIRIUS saying that there would be SQ adjustments. Where is this information coming from other than you just making it up?

I have heard no difference in SQ other than I may have mistakenly frigged with a setting on my stereo and things sound a bit different.

Me too. I clocked the WMA stream via a Linksys program at 25kbps so that might be it But then again I can still listen to it. SQ on Satellite sounds the game, and I've been listening to it alot lately and recording stuff.

I don't see any difference either... I listened to the 60's most of the day yesterday and I have the 70's on today.. Prior to reading this thread, I was actually thinking they've improved things a bit. The stereo separation seems better.

(PS.. This is direct from the satellites.. I've been a sub for over 2 1/2 years now and I've never once streamed online

The worst stations are Octane and hard attack to me, and no sign of improvement as far as SQ goes lately, but it hasn't gotten any better or worse lately.

Classic Vinyl sounded REALLY BAD this morning. I noticed with The Who -- I Won't Be Fooled Again (at about 9:40AM EST).

I noticed the quality of the premium online stream improved sometime last week or the week before -- it sounds like they are not preprocessing for PAC optimization like I suspected they were before, before sending it through the WMA coders (heh, I know it sounds weird, but I think they were taking their signal from the wrong spot because it definitely sounds noticably better at the same bitrate).

Default I agree

You are correct. The sound quality did deteriorate again early last week. Just when I thought that Sirius had found a permanent fix the quality, something was changed. I noticed it on Channel 14 first then realized that it was more widespread.

Oh my God do you people have ANY PROOF that the SQ is actually being adjusted OR are you just hearing a recording that's just lousy? Hard attack? The channel that plays bands that have a total production value of $500, The Who station? Where some of the recordings were done on a hand held?

I mean, some of what you people are complaining about is the actual recording that's being broadcast was lousy to begin with.

There has just been NO DIFFERENCE in the 10 or so stations that I listen to and I listen all day. Nothing that would suggest someone is sitting and actually making changes.
