Default Let's Discuss Your Plan, Radio & Info About Your Usage

When you're not busy try and stop by and throw your answers below. I'll answer in the ( ) areas regarding my own account.

1) What kind of SIRIUS radio do you presently own, if more than one post all active. (Sportster 4)

2) What kind of plan do you have for all radios, if more than one, example monthly/yearly? (Lifetime Subscription)

3) Top Three Reason for convincing yourself to actually go out and get SIRIUS service? (Howard, Commercial Free Music & NASCAR)

4) Breakdown of usage in Office, Car or Home? (Home 80%, Car 20%)

5) Any thoughts of quitting service after your plan is over or to extend your contract? (I would extend but I have the Lifetime already)

6) Do you plan on getting or drool over the thought of getting a Stilletto 100 or do you have it already? (I might be the only one here who is happy with my Plug & Play and don't really care to upgrade)

7) What company would you love to see buy SIRIUS if it absolutely had to happen? (Microsoft because the $ is there and the MS radios would have to be cool down the line)

8) XM, love them or hate them? (Second one is closer with me)

9) Month of activation? (December '05)

Thanks for taking the time,
-Ryan

1. Brand new Stratus (Just replaced a dying PNP2)

2. 3 year plan

3. I live in the boonies. I have no repeaters in my area. I chose Sirius because I live in the midwest and the satellites pass almost overhead. I figured that would provide better reception than XM's satellites which are all fixed low in the south sky.

4. 70% home, 30% car

5. No thoughts of quitting

6. Despite being an admitted gadget freak, I have no plans to get a Stiletto.

7. I don't care who owns Sirius as long as the format doesn't change drastically.

8. I have no feelings about XM..

1) Sportster, Starmate Replay for the wife, and just got my mom a Sportster Replay

2) Yearly on mine, 6 mos. on wife's & mom's (got the free radio offer for them and want to make sure they'll actually use it longer than 6 months!)

3) At the time I got it, it was before Stern announced his move, so it was the NFL. If I had known he was coming over, I would have said him.

4) 50% office use, 30% car, 20% home.

5) I don't see me ever canceling mine or my wife's service. Mom has only had it about a week and she "loves it", so I doubt I'll cancel that either.

6) I wouldn't mind having a Stilleto I guess, but I'm using Sirius WM5 on my Smart Phone which seems to be fine for my usage when I can't use the plug & play. Besides, a PS3 is at the top of my wish list!

7) Sprint/Cingular - utilize the cell networks for more fully capable Sirius devices & cheaper mobile devices.

8) Not really a fan of XM. I'll occasionally try to listen every once in a while on my DirecTV, but it doesn't do much for me. I'd honestly rather see DirecTV go back to using Music Choice instead of XM.

9) November '03.

1) What kind of SIRIUS radio do you presently own, if more than one post all active. (Sportster 4)
Two Audiovox PNP3's in two cars with a home kit and a boombox.

2) What kind of plan do you have for all radios, if more than one, example monthly/yearly? (Lifetime Subscription)
Two annual subs

3) Top Three Reason for convincing yourself to actually go out and get SIRIUS service? (Howard, Commercial Free Music & NASCAR)
Initially Howard, but love the commercial free music channels now.

4) Breakdown of usage in Office, Car or Home? (Home 80%, Car 20%)
Car 85%, Home 10%, Boombox 5%

5) Any thoughts of quitting service after your plan is over or to extend your contract? (I would extend but I have the Lifetime already)
Thinking of quitting because of the repetition and shallow playlists on my favorite music channels (1st Wave, Left of Center, Alt Nation). Plus, there is life without Howard.

6) Do you plan on getting or drool over the thought of getting a Stilletto 100 or do you have it already? (I might be the only one here who is happy with my Plug & Play and don't really care to upgrade)
Happy with my ol' reliable PNP3's.

7) What company would you love to see buy SIRIUS if it absolutely had to happen? (Microsoft because the $ is there and the MS radios would have to be cool down the line)
Don't know enough to have an opinion.

8) XM, love them or hate them? (Second one is closer with me)
Love them for their willingness to go deep and obscure, but it might be *too* obscure for me... my ideal SatRad service would be somewhere in between Sirius' hit-based format and XM's deep playlists. Also, I wouldn't be happy to be paying for SatRad and having to deal with commercials on music channels now that ClearChannel has a stake in XM.

9) Month of activation? (December '05)

1. Just picked up an Sir-Alp1 tuner for my Alpine HU
2. Will active the monthly plan (since they do not give a big enough discount on the yearly or simi yearly) on Christmas morning
3. Commercial Free Music coast to coast
4. 100% car since my tuner is wired into my HU
5. Not yet
6. No
7. Don't care are long as they make it better
8. 12/06

1) Sportster Replay in my car, Starmate Replay in my wife's van.

2) Both are annual subs.

3) It was a gift from my wife, she chose it over XM for the NFL.

4) 80% car, 20% home/office

5) No

6) No, I plan to stick with what I've got then evaluate my options when they bite the dust.

7) Anyone willing to make the investment to consistently improve it.

8) Indifferent.

9) November 22, 2005- 1 year tomorrow!

Post

1) Stiletto 100, Xact XTR1

2) Stiletto: 2 Yr Plan, Xact: 1 Yr Plan

3) Howard Stern, Commercial Free Music, Internet Radio

4) 30% Home, 30% Car, 40% Office (via Internet)

5) Will renew service, although will probably lengthen Xact term to 2 years next year, so that both radios don't come due at same time.

6) Got it already

7) Microsoft would be a good partner. But, would rather that Sirius stay independent and become a mega corporation.

8) Hate is such a strong term. Dislike or Disinterested is more like it.

9) November 2004

1) What kind of SIRIUS radio do you presently own, if more than one post all active. (S50)

2) What kind of plan do you have for all radios, if more than one, example monthly/yearly? (3Mos)

3) Top Three Reason for convincing yourself to actually go out and get SIRIUS service? (Howard, Howard & Howard)

4) Breakdown of usage in Office, Car or Home? (On my belt when not in car, use Fm thru house, just got a home dock for my office)

5) Any thoughts of quitting service after your plan is over or to extend your contract? (Not going anywhere while Howard's still on. Need to add S50 and sub for wife)

6) Do you plan on getting or drool over the thought of getting a Stilletto 100 or do you have it already? (S50 fills my needs very well. Live reception is not worth the loss of other functions)

7) What company would you love to see buy SIRIUS if it absolutely had to happen? (Independent is better, IMO. Maybe Real)

8) XM, love them or hate them? (needed for competition, they would've had me if they had dealt with Howard. reminds me of VHS/BetaMax and others)

9) Month of activation? (1-06-06)
