Default Denver Repeater Offline

Looks like the repeater in downtown Denver is offline. Not sure if this is a technical problem or was one of those repeaters that was exceeding FCC levels and was turned off.

Not sure about the repeater in the Tech Center.

My receiver was experiencing intermittent reception yesterday afternoon. The sat and repeater reception display was all over the map. I noticed this morning that the repeater was turned off and the sat reception was back to normal.

Anyone else in Denver experience this yesterday?

Default Denver Repeater

Came into work this morning and the repeater is dead. It was the only way I could get reception here in my office. Tell me it ain't so.

Ah so that would explain why my signal has been spotty for the past few days.

Yeah, what's up with the signal in Denver?

Starting yesterday, both of my cars are getting intermittent signal, although the signal strength always shows excellent. This is happening from Golden to Littleton at the very least, and in areas where I have excellent vision of the sky.

It's gotta be more than repeaters, unless the repeaters are screwing up the satellite signal. Which could be, as I think I'm getting good reception where there are no repeaters....

EDIT: I called Sirius, and the CSR told me they're having nationwide problems with the satellite signal. Hope they haven't lost a bird up there!

FYI - I just called Sirius and they said Techs are working on the Denver issue and it should be solved in 45-60 mins. I hope they are correct!!!!

I've found some other threads on here with people in other parts of the country experiencing the same issue. At least I know that my Starmate Replay isn't the problem (it's been dropped a couple of times).

This morning everything seemed to be working great. I did notice that the repeater downtown was offline. And then around noon the problem came back.

I guess I can catch up on some podcasts on the iPod.

I'm definitly still having reception problems, but my antenna aiming screen is showing full TER signal most of the time...unlike last night where I was getting no TER signal.

Yeah, my satellite signal bars were staying good, even though it was saying "Acquiring signal".

Since it's varying in time, that's why I wonder if one of the 3 birds is failing, and when the other two aren't in range we're getting these dropouts.

I was coming in from Broomfield to downtown on I25 and noticed that both SAT and TER were gone. When I got to I76 TER came back strong with a weak SAT. Then in the downtown area the SAT signal was gone but it had a full TER.

Weird.

I'd hate to be an engineer at Sirius HQ right now. Mel's probably in there saying heads will roll if this doesn't get fixed soon.

I don't know. Although I've seen full TER signal since last night, actual audio is still pretty spotty for me in Lakewood.

Default Denver Reception

Yesterday was particularly bad but I have been experencing problems for a month. I comute from Aruora to Lakewood and the constant "acquiring signal" is extremely annoying. Didn't even turn it on this morning. I will not renew my subscription, and I've been a subscriber for a few years.

Last night, as I was traveling on 100West to the Chick-fil-A, I was in a clear, wide open parking lot and wow it was very, very spotty, it kept going to one bar then Acquiring Signal alot, and I thought it was time to replace the antenna. There was spotty TER in Baltimore as well. Either it's sunspots or one of the birds may have died. (This was all in Maryland)

This is a very relieving thread to me. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, for the first time in my time with Sirius, I was having serious (he he) dropouts with my Sportster Replay in my car. I've never had any dropouts at all previously, other than going under a large overpass.

Tonight, however, I was walking around the neighborhood with my stiletto, and had crystal clear reception, without one dropout, without even using the antenna headphone- just the buds!

So, I'm thinking everything is back to normal. I wonder what happened?
