Default Better Home Audio Sirius Solution: Internet 128k Stream or Sirius SRH550 Home Tuner?

I had originally planned on purchasing a Sirius SRH550 Home Tuner for my home audiophile system.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CYD5oQN...50&i=607SRH550

With the start of the Sirius 128k Internet Stream that I am using now, I am not so sure I would get better audio quality from the SRH550. Has anyone on here performed a comparison of the two solutions?

I route the Sirius 128k Internet Stream from a PC with a high quality sound card into my home audio system.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Here's a link to a recent post discussing this same thing.

It is a great way to go. But I would wonder if the feed off of the Dish Network is even better yet. I haven't seen a comparison between those two yet.

your post got my curiosity up ,so I just signed up for the 128k stream
I have the audiovox version of the tuner you mentioned which appears
to be the same except the audiovox only has coax digital instead of TOS
and I have several others with TOS

I dont think I could do a good AB comparison by ear due to the inablity to
match the levels while switching a-b .. what I could hear the over the air
does sound a little fuller ?? whatever that may mean

I will try in the next few days to run both signals through a scope and see
if a difference can be seen, I dont think the $249 is going to give you a
whoopy de doo increse in quality though

I would think the tuner would be a better match in terms of ease of use, etc
unless you are always at the computer while you are listening to sirius.

my answers are not much help, but at least now you can say someone tried
to compare the two
