If there's any doubt about the flutter problem, listen to string or piano music on Symphony Hall/80. It's unmistakable. My wife, without any prompting, looked at the Sirius radio in our kitchen which was playing a piano sonata on Ch. 80 and said "What's wrong with it?" I can't believe that Sirius management hasn't noticed it on their drives home from the office.

Default Thank You All, I'm Not Crazy!!!

Sheesh,
Got in my car Monday morning and got the "update".
Didn't notice it much on that 10 minute drive, then had the Starmate ST1 hooked up at home that night while entertaining 6 friends.

I'm sitting there saying "Can you guys hear that? It sounds like crap!"
Everyone else: "What the hell are you talking about?!?!?!"
I've been the butt of jokes the whole day because of it.

Thanks to all of you for proving me right!!!!

The sound quality is absolutely unbearable and it's every channel except for channel 2 from what I can tell.

I spent 3 hours off and on the phone with Sirius reps today trying to "troubleshoot" this issue. NONE OF THEM HAD A CLUE!!!!!!

I got hung up on while on hold 3 times.
"I've never heard of a problem like this before. Let me ask around." Got hung up on while on hold.

I had to give them my phone number every call.
3 different people read through the manual for the ST1 trying to "troubleshoot" the issue for me.

They had me doing all kinds of crap trying to solve the problem.............

One person did mention the update might be for switching channel 2 to Christmas music.

I don't know what the deal is, but this really sucks.

I haven't been happy with the sound quality (sub-FM) since day one, but I absolutely HATE commercials so I've continued to subscribe to Sirius. We also love having it on trips, but if I have to listen to that crap for 10 hours I don't know if I can handle it.......

Default Oh I Forgot

I forgot to mention that the music that was playing (channel 9) while I was on hold sounded the same!!!! It had the same "flutter" or "warble".........

The online listening sounds better than my full-up receiver..

I agree with the post earlier that stated it sounded like 18kbps streaming audio.

BAD!!!

Exclamation Not good!

You can add the Spectrum and Disorder to the list. On 18, 8:05Pm Central, sounds like Janice Joplin is singing Me and Bobby McGee through a snorkel.

Thumbs down

I've noticed this since last week on some of the channels. I don't hear it on all of the ones some of you have mentioned but Prime Country seems to be the worst. It's espically bad when a dj is talking over the music. Just when Prime Country's music was starting to sound good again, now I have to listen to something else.

You would expect a problem not to be fixed right away like this if you were listening to a small market radio station because they wouldn't have the resources to repair the problem...Quickly. Where's the Sirius' engineers???

Default Update: Sound Is Better

I listened this morning, sounded as good as it used to.

I'm still overall disappointed in the sound quality.
My local FM stations have better highs and lows.

But, quantity over quality.........and lack of commercials keeps me here at Sirius.

Me too. I was listening to The Pulse yesterday, 11/28, when this happened twice.
