It better now, but for the person questioning my math.
Stiletto $350
2 yrs $270
Carkit/Homekit $140

The following were purchased as a gift for the GF who is in another household and thus on another account.
Sportster $140
Sportster Boombox $100
GFs Sub $270

Tax and acivation fees = $100

Not to mention the money spent on a stiletto case, an RCA adapter for a stock car stereo, and some ferrite beads. Yeah I could have been dishonest and put both myself and the GF on one account but 2 yrs is a long time and if it went sour, she could easily get me in trouble in that situation.

DAB, it sounds to me like the SQ is actually better than it was previously. I don't remember hearing sound this good from Sirius.

I wasn't aware that the technology they are using for the Coffee House was different from the other channels in terms of SQ. Do you know what they do differently with the Coffee House? If that's what's happening now with the other stations, it's working because this is the first time I've really been satisfied with the sound.

Guys, I haven't been following this thread with the utmost attention because of the obvious recurring theme (which will never be emphasized enough in my opinion) but again I ask: isn't today's noticeable improvements merely due to the fact that the sweat from all those sporting channels during primetime have vanished until they return again?

I'm still thinking that the heavy load they still impose on their system a couple times a week, makes the sound utterly unacceptable. And of course, the worst instruments to be affected by that "water effect" remain natural sounds like pianos and strings. Sad.

I agree with that statement. If I can't feel it, I can't deal with it.

I agree. The audio on the music stations sounds better now than before. They must have been upgrading and tweaking the CODEC and now its finished.

What Sports Channels? Sirius uses existing channels and preempts normal programming. So this isn't the case at all. If SIRIUS had 10 channels that they were turning off you may could draw that conclusion, but since they don't increase the number of channels for sports and use existing channels, why would this impact SQ? It doesn't!!!

No this is a noticeable change so something has been tweaked, there is NO doubt about that. The SQ has't just returned to the same ole same, but has actually improved.. the sound is fuller.
