Default replacing stolen ST2 -need opinions

I was going to go for the new Starmate 4 for 79 with rebate at Crutchfield but notice that Costco is selling the St2 's still for 29 with rebate..other than a dock whats worth paying an extra 50 bucks for the new model ..anything else???

Nothing really. The ST4 is basically a ST2 with a dock. ST3 is an ST4 without Replay.

The only thing I would add is the fact that many people myself included have had problems with the starmate replay input jacks (search the board) they go bad when you transfer from car to home a lot.....to me its worth the extra $ to get the new universal recievers...especially if your goin to be movin it around

Good luck

good point..i do move mine around lot but since it got ripped after after only a few months its hard to say if the jacks would have held up or not..
im wondering if the same would not be true for the docks though?

You should not have this problem with the universal recievers because they have one (prong) type piece that is much more stable than the st2...some of the people on this board have actually taken apart the st2 and found the constant plugging and unplugging has caused the solder points to come loose and break....the newer units don't use this type of contact.
