Oh really... So how is it queer? What part of the plot or characters in the Nutcracker is/are queer? Perhaps it is just that you think you are too manly to listen or watch something like this.

Bravo to BFM for actually having the balls a man should have and not be impacted by a performance of the Nutcracker. I see nothing QUEER about it. On Broadway they may have some gay performers in the parts, but that is about it.

Interesting... Sugar Plum Fairies means they are homosexual. You sure they don't fall into definition number 1.

You aren't homophobic are you my good buddy Fergz?

I do think its a "bit" better than last year. Although I do get tired of hearing most of the songs about "missing you this year", "wish you were here this year", "seeing my ex-girlfriend in a grocery store", " Not the same this year without you" sappy songs!!

Sure would be nice to hear some songs by Gene Autry and Bing Crosby like:

1. O Little Town of Bethlehem
2. Silent Night
3. Joy To The World
4. Away In the Manger
5. What Child Is This
6. The Little Drummer Boy
7. O Holy Night
8. I Sign Noel
9. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
10. The Holly and The Ivy

But I guess I'll have to listen to my CD's for these great classics to be heard.

I'm a fan of Sirius 53 Soul Town and would love to hear more Motown Christmas tunes. Good call!

P.S. The Nutcracker is a great Christmas play. Now, "An Andy Dick Christmas," THAT is gay.

Wink

Wait a minute....you people got it all wrong.

It's not Christmas music, it's 'Holiday' music.

Starlight Christmas music is definitely better than last year, but the playlist is still a bit too "safe" and limited imo. My wife loved it though, so everyone has a different expectation of what they want to hear I guess.

My suggestion (aka "SIRIUS fuck-up #1,354") from one of the other 50 Christmas music threads from one of the other forums that gets much traffic than this one ...now with 10% more Motown:

One of the single-artist channels would air this.

- Traditional Religious Christmas music. All the religious-oriented music such as "Silent Night", "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", etc. would air here. It would naturally take over one of the Christian music channels. Although, I'd probably sneak in a few Hanukkah tunes as well.

- A version of XM's Holiday Traditions. This would air the traditional songs that aren't necessarily religious in nature. The Bing Crosby's and Nat "King" Cole's go here.

- A modern/contemporary channel. Pretty self-explanatory. Yet another that XM did right.

- A Christmas Rock Channel. This could EASILY fill-up an entire channel. It would obviously take-over one of the rock channels ...which we can easily spare.

- An old-school rap/R&B and Motown Christmas channel. I don't like lumping them into one category, but you can't have 50 bloody channels.

Aside from the repetition, these two channels were actually done halfway right by SIRIUS:

Classical Christmas - Very welcome addition. Even though I initially said that it shouldn't take over SIRIUS Pop, it's actually the most logical place to put it, IMHO. Better that Symphony Hall because I read to that one.

Christmas Country - Not something I'd personally listen too, but definitely a genre that airs plenty of Christmas tunes.

Completely rid the channels of:

The constant repetition. (Obviously)

The cheesy Kasey Kasem "dedications" that just plain annoy. This is something I would expect on FM radio...not satellite. Nothing is more annoying than having to endure "audio postcards" from complete strangers.

Boys band holiday covers. 'Nough said.

Basically, I'd just do what XM is doing...only better. Probably just should of said that in the first place.

The extra channels could take over the two "single-artist" channels ("Who" the hell would miss them? ), one Christian music channel and Easy Listening...or SIRIUS Love. No one would even notice those channels were temporarily missing since they all have music that is often heard on other channels.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking: Why haven't they fired Steve Blatter and replaced him with me? Your guess is as good as mine.
